    Default Civic 9th Gen Performance

    Salam..

Tonight I was coming back from Lahore to Isb on my new civic, I thought to check its performance..

On 4th gear the max it went was 196km/h & on shifting to 5th it would lose a little & then accelerate damn slow.. The max I could reach on my journey was 202km/h & it looked like a stop point, It couldn't accelerate more..

My civic is all stock and the tyres are Michelin XM2 205/65.

I was expecting more from it or may be it has something to do with my driving.. experts please comment

why would you or anyone want to drive at this high speed? Is the tag of 200 km/hr or more, superior than your life?

what's the odo reading of your car?
May be you have activated the ECO option.
May be the air resistance was too high at that particular time and place.

    200+ that,s enough bro
Company might have limited it to some specific point otherwise u must have taken it to its limit and on our uneven roads even Motoway is not that smooth. u might have encountered accident (May it never happen) so bro drive safe and b safe to be happy
Can,t think of a better signature

Car bought as new should be tested for how you're gonna drive it in routine. Did you ever try testing yourself by jumping from the 4th floor when you know you aint gonna do it in real life?

Obviously I understand over 200km/h isn't something you do everyday but then I was testing how it goes..

I don't think that company locked it at 200 because otherwise it would reach 200 at a fast acceleration & stop there (like mark x does at 180)

The odo reading is at 6000km & yeah it's manual. ECO was off too but can't say about air resistance.. may be

but overall I expected it to reach 220 atleast..

Keeping this aside, what really impressed me was its stability, control and braking even at such a high speed, i never felt being at 200. I remember my xli would start vibrating and feel out of control at high speeds

depends very much on driving style,, normally it gives me 12-13km/l, on heavy foot its somewhere around 9-10/l

& the day I was testing its full limits on motorway the average was 7/l

    AOA,

Factually you were at 206 kms/hr. This is due to speedometer error due to change in tyre size.

And isb I up than lhr thats why you can't reach that speed and it you had drove back to lhr you should have got a little more speed like 210 I drove my gli to 170 in national highway near my home on eid day and gli is 1.3 not 1.8
and petrol might have caused it too
I suggest not to go at high speed in these sedans
Baki 206 bhe boht hai mehran hoti toh kia kartay 110 per app he slow kardatay
