Default 9th gen Civic: Ownership Experience

Today, April 29, I finally got my 9th gen Civic Oriel Prosmatic, delivered after a long wait of over two months.

    Picture from day-one:

I upgraded from 8th gen Civic that I enjoyed for almost two years.

I am opening this thread to keep a record of modifications I make and share my experience with the car throughout the time this remains with me.

Yes, I do realize that the average of vehicle will settle down after around 5000kms......I also will go for body-kit in July.......just want to enjoy this simple look till then......I am interested in changing the front grille too....but haven't come across a nice option yet.......do let me know if you find something worthwhile........

Don't go for hid in stock projectors .....9th gen civic is equipped with the halogen projectors which are meant to use with halogen bulbs not with D2s ...

You may also consider lighting up your reflectors by performing a small DIY.
It gives life to those passive reflectors.

Congratulations.....It's looking great.....I agree that the company fitted navigation unit isn't the best value for money.......I opted for it just to avoid opening panels for fitting a new system........plus risking the warranty.........

In my opinion you should avoid hard breaking more than anything else.........and yes.....initially for some time it is good idea to not to rev too high too quickly.......use Econo mode more often.........

Though this 9th gen Navigation System seems a bit quick to load files.....switch source.....but as far as recognizing different format files....I am getting hit and miss results.....sometimes it plays the same files.....that it refused to acknowledge earlier........

Virtual disc is a nice feature as well as display quality is better.....

Default First Issues after getting the car: Navigation System refuses to switch-off

I faced my first issues with the new car some fifteen days ago......when all of sudden all the controls on Navigation Unit stopped working.....I was not able to increase or decrease volume......change source......or even switch it off......it gave me a shock when I switched the car off and took the key out of ignition.....the navigation unit continued to play the radio.....ultimately I had to disconnect battery to switch it off.......

This was something that I had never faced earlier with any of my cars......

This happened again the following day and I decided to take the car to dealership.......There I was immediately introduced to the reset button just beside the gps-card-slot.......I was told that there was an issue with the navigation unit and Atlas had not been able to sort the problem out........the only option till then was to reset every time the problem occurs.....they had no idea what made the nav-unit to behave like this......

From that time onward I again faced the same problem once and after resetting the unit.....it became okay.....

Now.....I have guessed that this is actually the Bluetooth pairing with my GS4 that may causing this issue.......This problem first occurred on the day I bought the mobile and paired it with the unit......this continued to happen till whenever I received or made a call.......I have now turned-off the blue tooth and the nav-unit has not faltered again......this was okay with my Note-2 earlier
