Hi all, I have a Honda Civic Ferio. It has been lying dead for 2 years now because the ECU was damaged and couldn't find a replacement. Then, by Allah's will i found a contact in Japan and ordered the ECU with a slightly different number. Although the original part number is 37820-PLC-J43, i ordered a 37820-PLC-J41. The ECU is compatible in my opinion because it is also for Honda Civic Ferio, same engine, same gearbox, same year of manufacture. The only difference is my model is Type C4 and the ECU i ordered is for Type B4. Both cars look the same. Now when i try to start the car it cranks for a while then starts but it backfires and turns off again. I diagnosed the car and here is the error code...
P0117- ECT SENSOR 1 CIRCUIT LOW INPUT
I checked the Temperature of the car with the machine and it shows 215 degrees. That is not normal as it shows it is overheated yet the engine is cold. The temperature gauge on the car also rises to the top. My question is...
1) Can a faulty Engine Coolant Temperature cause a Honda not to start?
2) If someone has knowledge on a Honda, could you advise me if the ECU which i have can be compatible?
Please help...
