Why is it necessary to change stock tyres immediately after u buy a new Civic? Are the stock eurostar not good?

Yes. Those tyres will wear out quickly and their comfort level will decrease as well. So its best to sell them as soon as possible so that you get a good price for your eurostars.
The later you sell your eurostars the lower the price you shall get for them.

this car too has the same problem. i checked other new cars ready for delivery at the showrom and they all had the same problem.
i went to the honda showroom today and discussed this with the mechanic and he says that this is how all civics are coming. this will be resolved eventually but for now he has asked me to close the boot by placing both hands on either side of the honda logo and close it with gentle "love"
so that's what i'm doing but not everyone will understand this. especially the servants who will keep banging the boot till it closes.
anyway, honda says that they will contact me if there's a recall and i've them my contact details. no matter how high the price of this car is, the honda sales people and mechanics are really nice and helpful.
full marks to honda city sales, kalma chowk
You're right. This problem is across the board for the new civic. And buddy this is Pakistan - don't even think that a car manufacturer will actually recall any car

But I have learned the trick. You're right about applying the pressure near the logo on the center. I close the same boot with two fingers - literally

Well sunnych has given us a solution. When he posts detailed pics of the procedure I will go to Honda immediately and tell their head manager how to fix it on all future cars. Because it's a major headache for all the new buyers out there. Maybe it will relieve them of their apprehensions on the very first minute of seeing their car.

    please read post 74.

i've a swift and a daihatsu move, both with immobilizer feature,.
i've personally checked it out in the daihatsu and it works pretty well...the horn starts honking and all the lights flash until u use the original key.
i can't say much about the feature on this car. but i will update u when i get any info
You're right about the immobilizer system. I also own a PKDM swift dlx. Have found its immobilizer system to be quite good.
Again, I am not an expert - but for this new civic, there are sensors even in the hood and the boot. If you try to open any of them without the normal way, and with the immobilizer activated, the car will start honking - it keeps honking for 30 seconds and then with intervals of 10 seconds I think. So how can anyone "by pass" wires then (as was mentioned by another member on this thread)
Try it - sit inside the car, lock the car with the key. Wait for about 10 seconds, and then open the door - and all hells gonna break loose
Make sure you don't do it at a time when someone is sleeping - learned that the hard way

Do let me know also once you get this fixed. I live in islamabad and my dealer is the honda classic guys. Not a bad posse, so I will go tell them your solution and get my car also fixed. Please do let me know as soon as you're able to get around to getting the issue resolved with your car.

Lol... Thanks for the info. In case of such a situation, how do u switch it off?
When it happened with me in my daihatsu move I pressed all sorts of buttons in a panic state and don't recall how it shut up :p
