darker colours look good anyways because you can see more reflections in them, maybe that masks the orange peel to some extent (you dont notice, psychological effect),

second possibility is that they actually do have less orange peel. (though i don't really think this option makes sense, what does colour have to do with orange peel, it depends on spray pattern........or maybe honda is using their newbie painters to work on light colours)

I've a '05 civic in the same color and it's finish is smooth. There's no orange peel appearance in that which is why I was concerned. Anyway it's hardly noticeable and it's not like the car will fall to pieces by rust after a few drives in the rain.

no no, it only looks bad, it is not sensitive, treat it like a normal paint, old hondas have less orange peel, and with routine wear and tear it reduces by itself. just get the paint lightly polished, it will look better

u should go to honda people and show them the paint quality of 2005 civic, and ask for a free waxing/detailing for the new civic!

Compare your 7th gen's door sills/foot boards with those of your 9th gen. Civic is slowly moving towards City in terms of basic manufacture. This naked foot board thing I hate the most in city, sadly Civic is identical in terms of that now.

All alabaster silver civics have the same paint quality. I don't think there's any point of arguing with honda over that anyway.

Hmmm... I quite agree... But overall the gadgets, specs and comfort make up for the lack of quality, which isn't that bad. These minor quality glitches are found in almost all PKDMs. @fazalwahab, my family tends to keep their car in original condition. We never changed our cd player of our previous 7th gen civic even though it stopped working 5 years after we bought it. So even though it looks very tempting, I guess I will have to get used to the bland foot board :p

    Mileage on motorway: 11km/l
It's progressively improving. It was 6.7 km/l when we left home.

I have the same car (in a different color). Was really dumbfounded to see the hidden water reservoir. As if the engineers forgot to add it in the design and did it at the last minute

Btw, congrats. And nice color. Had it not been for my wife opposing this color, I would have also gotten the same color. It truly stands out in this new civic. And its an excellent car - you ll definitely enjoy it

Where did you guys get the tyres from? And dis you guys also trade in the honda fitted eurostars and the price difference was 22k?

Oh thanks. Well that solves the problem we all were having.
And anyway its not a good idea to remove the battery to check the level as mentioned earlier by a member on this thread.
Because a friends driver removed his cars battery and when they were reattached, all the screens and rev counter went haywire.

I agree. I keep my car very stock as well. Though I own a car which i will hardly see not moded. At least the owner change the exhaust as soon as they buy it. But I keep it as original as possible.
