Default Car not starting: Civic 1997

    Dear All,

On saturday i was driving my car and the roads were flooded but luckly i safely passed the flooded area and came back home. at night i again went out for some work and the roads were almost clear. little water was to be ssen but much better then before. all of a sudden on a dry road my car gave some jerk and stopped as if someone cut the power. i tried to start again it started for may 3 seconds then stopped. i called on electrition he daignosed that the distributor is not giving current to the plugs. i towed the car and went home. next morning i tried to start the car and it started perfectly for abot 20 seconds then the same thing

Can any help me with this one. is there anything to do with water.the car is civic 1997 vti.

Obviously as the mech said , get ur distributor checked and also check the Ammulator/ Advancer, that can also be the culprit and behave in da same fashion when malfunctioned.

Distributor cap has become moisturized from inside due to condensation, remove cap and dry the cap & internal components of distributor like ignition coil, ignitor assembly etc....,You can use electronic circuit cleaner spray or wd-40 for this purpose.
