Default CIVIC REBORN - FUEL FILTER REPLACEMENT REQUIRED AT 50.000km or not?

my civic has run 54000km and am curious that at what mileage the FUEL FILTER is to be replaced? read it in some forum here that it needs to be replaced at 50,000km.. any experience folks? and if it is to be replaced , what will it cost (at 3S dealerships) ?

and another tangling thing ,, a regular engine oil needs to be replaced at 4-5000kms , but ive come across a thread here where people say a SYNTHETIC ENGINE OIL can do 10,000km and some even said 12-13,000kms.. is this true??

i use honda oils (whatever the brand is) , the regular oil costs around Rs1800 and a synthetic for Rs2200.. with a price difference of just Rs400 , how can u get double mileage! and if we switch from regular to synthetic , does the oil filter needs to be replaced aswell??

    thanks..

You should change your fuel filter. Fuel filters are fairly cheap and easy to replace.
Even if you are on the right track, you will get run over if you just sit there.

Fuel filter is a must change at 40k!! You have already dragged it. Replace it asap. It will cost around 6k.
I'd say better stick to 10w30 in summers and 5w40 in winters. and NO. Don't go for HONDA genuine synthetic. They are using total oil which is totally crap. Caltex fully synthetic or Mobil 1 fully synthetic. Change synthetic oil max at 7k. and do change oil filter at every oil change.

lol... chalani civic, kharcha krna mehran jitna? bhai jaan 54000kms ap chala chukay hain, 6000rs ka fuel filter hy, 6000/54000 = 0.112rs per kms. abhi bhi mehnga hy?

as for synthetic oil, DONT use it for a civic. many ppl have done so are many are not satisfied. even the simple honda oil sucks. i always prefer havoline formula (10w30) for cars with strong engines n havoline CXT (20w50) for older cars. havoline formula is the best oil i ve ever used. but now that u ve been using honda oil for a long time, dont change it, just keep on using it. agay waisay bhi sardi aa rhi hy n honda oil's grade is gud enough for winter.

i dont know if u can buy the pump or the filter seperately or not. i bought a single piece which had them both. i my have the pix somewhere in my pc, i ll look for them. u CAN seperate the two but their configuration is such that they fit into one single assembly that is lowered into the fuel tank.

another thing to consider when replacing anything in the fuel delivery system is that u gotta check all of the things. if the filter is clogged but the pump is fine, the pump wud die off soon as it wud be taking extra strain. if the injectors are clogged, pump faces the same fate n if the injectors n pump r fine n filter is clogged, the pump wud break off small particles of dust form the filter n send it down to the injectors, blocking them too.

so, whenever the work is done, all things, including fuel lines, should be checked.

Brother you can safely use synthetic oil its good.

Fuel filter does not need replacement it works for the whole life of car unless you are using impure Irani petrol.

If you are using a branded oil filter like FRAM ultra, K&N or Mobil 1 the oil filter works for 2 oil changes if you are using a local one u have to change the filter with every oil change.

Change the synthetic at 8,000 KM max or check the viscosity at your fingertips or get it checked from the oil change guy.

Synthetic oils surely can do 12,000 or even 15,000 KM but not in dusty and idle driving conditions like Pakistan.
All life is an experiment. The more experiments you make the better.

Welcome to the world of Honda. Basically Honda mein bohat cheap grading nahi hoti as far ar i know.
You can get the stuff from following manufacturers:
    1. Original (Honda)
    2. Taiwan
    3. Kabuli
    4. China ( do not know whether this category exists in honda Spare Parts)
P.S. These are my observations, by buying some spare parts and by asking the denter, painter, mechanic and electrician.
