Default HONDA CIVIC (Reborn) SUSPENSION CHANGE RECOMMENDATION

    Hey guys,

I was meaning to ask this for quite some time and got the chance today. Anyways, I have a 2008 Honda Civic reborn, the problem with that car is that when 4 people sit in that car, the car from the back just drops down, an issue with all Honda Civic Reborns.

So I went to a mechanic called Babu Bhai (Khan Motors, karachi defence), he said there is something called a spacer which we put on the rear shocks (suspension) of the car and that makes the shocks/suspension stay in its place when more weight is put on them.

I was wondering if anyone knows anything about this as I don't want to get my car ruined by them as I have no clue of what this spacer is and upon asking the mechanic to remove if if I don't like it later, he said that he won't be able to remove it once they spacer is set or put in place.

And the mechanic also said that this will slightly affect the ride of a Honda Civic, need to confirm this as well.

Please let me know if someone has already done this with their Honda Civic reborn or if they know have info about this thing called a spacer.

I have putted spacers in my Vitz 2009 model as it was too low for the roads of Pakistan and was kissing every speed braker, as you know that in pakisan every body is crazy in making stupid speed brakers near their houses. It raise the ride almost 3 inches, the effect on ride was that in starting it felt little bumpy but now it is fine. It costed me Rs. 2800. and time taken was 30 minutes to install it.

Hmm... What about the quality of the ride, did it affect that? And do they take the whole suspension out or what to do they do? Need to know so they don't fool me as I know info from before. Cheers!

Don't go for spacers unless you have serious ground clearance issues.
Spacers will effect ride quality and braking mechanism too.

Needed to put spacer because I am travelling from Karachi to Islamabad with 4 people in the car plus luggage. The car will hit small bumps on the road and that will cost me Alot of money to repair as I can't keep a look out for every bump on the roads, most I'll miss but that one little bugger might sneak through.
Just a thought. What do you guys think?
And kingpin have you used a spacer before? Wondering?

They jacked up the car, took the springs out. Put the spacers on the springs, put it back and done. Took the test drive and i was satisfied

Brother put a an exact 1" spacer not more note less and your car will be fine.
