Default 9th GEN Civic mileage .... you beauty :)

If you get lil things right (which I shall explain later)... This is how 9th gen civic responds ... pleasantly surprised I must say ... For all those who are still pondering between this and 3to5 year old japenese counterparts .. It's time to stop .. In my humble opinion the best option in 2 million bucks right now we have, like it or not ... ( this milege Is in Lahore city traffic with ac, driven in one day from morning to evening)... P.S ... prosmetic wishers look away rite now .. this happens only with manual 9th GEN Civic mileage you beauty -1256167

The way you wrote "you beauty" remind me of zulfiqar babar six to samules, as soon as he hit commentator said, zulfiqar babar you beauty :-P

On top this performance meter is not 100% accurate. The right way is to check after getting tank full, and then fill it again.

    that is a costly method
in modern cars another method is to check with the help of low fuel warning light.

Hmmm the Japanese counterparts discussion is a separate thing here...

The mileage no doubt is impressive however the biggest thing to note is manual transmission.

People used to automatics specially traffic like Lahore it's very hard to switch back to manual.

I drive a hybrid so won't compare mileage numbers here; was to buy another car and my range was 2.5/6 million

Options were oriel pt or 1.8 Prius full option.

I imported the hybrid would INSHALLAH be here by October. A lot of factors downsized the civic for me but what pit it right is the class.

The interior is wow and the back is better than a Prius.

Front for both cars is similar.

Again both have their pros and cons. Happy driving!

sir ,, if I had 2.8 to 3 million budget ,, I would ve gone for new prius myself ... that's why I specifically mentioned the 2 million and below category ... also no arguing about the features and build quality of japenese cars as I own a Suzuki cervo SR myself and its WOW but then again atleast my research told me that we don't have gr8 options in 1.8 L category under 2 million unfortunately ....

Ok let me tell you something interesting next time u want a new shape Prius for 2 million give me a call.

The car will take 2-2.5 months to come and ull have to go through the process but it will be a CLEAN CAR NON REPAIRED DEALER CAR

L package and under 70k original mileage.

Put another 200k and u can get an S package too.

If ull go to the market and buy on straightway keep in mind the seller would charge his 150-200k profit for invested amount for 60odd days.

Plus the registration is cheaper than the civic.

The only edge the civic has is the new car smell and the seat plastics .

When I went to buy one I went in a 2nd gen Prius, the civic's arm rest was making wierd noises and so was some of the dash, I smiled at the sales rep who was quoting the car pros and left the showroom.

Even the options and features of a 2nd gen Prius were far superior.

Still if I could afford petrol maybe I would've bought a civic then again premio isn't bad either .

I'm happy to know ure getting such good mileage from a Honda much improvement from the 8th gen; uve heard its a bit nimble and light on grip compared to reborn due to higher ground clearance though.

sir my own elder brother imports cars got my cervo at a rate ppl can only dream of ... all the benefits u mentioned of japenese cars I totally agree but trust me the prius I wudve bought is considerably more than 2 million I guess it also comes down to lots of other factors ,, like for me instant acceleration required sometimes , also I got manual by choice ,, enuff said sir ,,, I myself am a prius admirer but to me zero meter MT civic was the choice ,, for many others it might not be happy driving sir

There are a few accurate ways to check your car's economy.

Try filling the tank, drive around for a few days casually without the notion that you are 'calculating fuel economy', and refil again.

These range meters are pretty much useless, trust me. Here's how my car's meter was trying to make a fool out of me in recent refill.

    Range = 950 km
Actual what I get from 1 full tank = 400 km

i don't think so if you are is not shared with any one else, or you are the only driver.

In karachi i don't risk of waiting for low fuel light when city has a record time of getting closed with in 10 minutes

sir , I drove 672 km local with ac before getting the tank full last time and it got full in 49 litres ... and this was before my second oil change.. this picture is now after that .. so previously I was kinda getting something like 13.5-14... but as of today I can again confirm that MashAllah the economy is now consistently around the 15kmpl mark ....

Guys, so here are a few simple things I am doing since day 1 of my ride .... 1) 25 litre high octane in each tank 2) Mobil 1 oil changed at 1000km and also recently at 5000km 3) fuel injection cleaner with every oil change 4) Keep my air filter clean regularly coz Lahore is dusty 5) low gear change ratio instead of throttling it everytime during pickup 6) Eco mode always on 7) Always check my tyre pressure weekly ... That is pretty much it I think ... And how well it is repaying and responding is just brilliant ... cant wait to take it out on motorway
