Default 2 Problems: Civic making constant mild jerks / Loss of Power

    AoA PWs

About 3 months back, the middle "dholki" of exhaust started rattling so i changed it but the replacement was a desi type of dholki as i was in a hurry caz i had to travel to Quetta the next day. Since its change i felt that the engine felt a little heavy and bogs a little if i press the accelerator hard.
On my way to Quetta near Sibbi the car started giving severe jerks on petrol as if engine was shutting down for a second & coming back to life, so i converted to cng and all was fine.
After reaching quetta i felt a severe loss of power while going uphill. So after few diagnostics myself i retarded the timing from distributor & all was fine. no jerks on petrol, no power loss.
but after abt a month which is a week back the problem came back but in a different way. There r mild jerks in driving specially on constant speed as if traveling on an uneven road. The problem persists on CNG as well as Petrol.
The engine now bogs down badly on cng when i press the accelerator too hard at low speeds only. but if i change gears at high rpms then its ok. i have tried tuning the CNG numerous times. Bogging is less on petrol.

Now here is the list of things which i hav already done
    1. Plugs changed abt 1 month before the problem started.
    2. Plugs r a little sooted but not much.
    3. Plug wires checked for resistance but passed.
    4. Distributor cleaned.
    5. There r no CEL codes.

Question 1: The car was working fine before but after travelling to Quetta i had to retard the timing. thats weird. BTW timing belt change is due & i m planning to do it in a week or so. Can it be a loose or failing timing belt?

Question 2: The "dholki which i replaced was genuine honda & one could see through the center hole to the other side, but the new one was desi & was blocked in the center. Can it be the cause of heavy engine & low pick cause it might b producing more back pressure as it is not allowing free flow.

Also dont forget the constant mild jerks which i m facing now. Your input is required. Specially @Xulfiqar bhai & others.

^ thnx for input. i know i did a mistake in hurry. i am planning on changing that ASAP.
What abt the other fault. Actually people here at Quetta r so much possessed with NCP Toyotas that its hard to find a Honda mech here. So i hav to do everything myself.
Right now i m more worried abt the jerks which started a week ago.

the old Pakistani civics used 2 resonators - one is bullet shaped with an arrow (its placed where the CAT would be in a japanese model), the middle one is a regular straight pipe resonator. Dont install any other type.

the jerks you feel can be bad fuel quality or low fuel pressure too.

Totally agree abt exhaust. But jerks can't b due to fuel quality as it is there both on petrol and CNG. It's very mild and constant as if travelling on uneven road.
I m planning on changing the dizzy

If found on both fuels then replace the ignition coil, cap, rotor, wires and plugs one at a time - you will find the problem.

Do this after valve clearance adjust.

    Today I did further diagnostics.
    Cleaned throttle body.
    Checked TPS voltage tests.
    Cleaned sensor connectors
There was a minor vacuum leak in throttle body gasket. Tightened its bolts
    But problem is still there

Moreover I Hav found out that when I keep the gear neutral & give constant acceleration then there is no jerk. The jerks only occur while driving on constant speed, acceleration and also occur while deceleration. So I think that
    1. It might b a mechanical fault
    2. Can it b related to cv joints etc because I found today that boot of right front joint is torn & all grease leaked out
    3. Can it b a clutch related problem?

    Good discussion going on
something like this happened to me as well.
I was coming back to my place after visiting karachi through National highway. As soon as I crossed Quiadabad I felt jerks/missing on acceleration alongwith vibration. It was night time so considering the law and order situation I didn't bother to stop the car to check what has gone wrong.
I think some plug or plug wire has gone bad. I ll check in the morning.
Motor is D15b on Petrol only and I filled tank while going city.

Btw I have noted that engine heats up more than before & I can feel the heat while standing near the hood even after a normal drive.
It was not heating up that much before this problem.

Irfan bhai if your heat gauge not going above the desire temperature than the heat dissipation is good of your car

Re did the timing belt today & of-course the so called tappet adjustment also.
timing mark on crack & camshaft were a little off. so i just loosened the tensioner bearing, gave abt six terns anti clock wise. the marks got aligned and re tightened the tensioner after 3 teeth formula & all got well. then rechecked the marks all done.
The lifters were a little too tight. so adjusted them to factory specs of 0.23mm out and 0.18mm inlet.

The only thing left is the timing adjustment of distributor caz i didnt have the timing gun. so i adjusted by just ANDAAZA .
fired up the engine after resetting the ecu and let it idle for abt 10-15 mins. then i went for a test drive.
the engine now feels so light & pick has tremendously improved both on cng and petrol. no more jerks.

but a new problem has come up. when i press accelerator while driving on cng, there is one big jerk in engine and then it gets ok.
i think its due to wrong adjustment of distributor. will check timing with a timing gun and then update. otherwise the ride is now great on petrol and cng.

check for the electronic idle switch, a stall (engine sans lagaya) before pick-up is sometimes because of the broken connection
