    Exclamation civic 05, bad jerk while accelerating on petrol

    History: I have a Honda Civic 2005, the odo is around 80,000 KM. I got CNG installed at around 12000KMs. In the previous year, the engine check light came up twice but i never get the OBD scanned regarding why it came. However it was quite some time ago and the problem i am about to discuss has started recently.

    Problem: Kindly note It only happens when i am running on petrol, no such issue when the car is on CNG. Hard to explain but here is the scenario:
    My car is in first gear, the accelerator is pressed a little, just enough so that it does not go above 3k rpm, the car starts moving and randomly while accelerating, it gives a really hard jerk and then within half a second goes back to normal.
    Second situation(happens in all the gears but jerk is hard on low gears) is that: The car is moving at a constant speed, i see the traffic ahead slowing down so i take my foot off the accelerator, and the car starts slowing down. After a while the traffic ahead starts to move again so i slowly press the accelerator but the car does not accelerate, instead it starts slowing down even at higher rate (as if brake is pressed) until i press the accelerator more and then at one point it gives a jerk and starts accelerating like normal

    What sort of behavior is this? I am going to honda dealership this monday for power steering bleed and oil change so i want this thing to be fixed as well.
    It will be better if great minds like sir @Xulfiqar can shed some light on this problem.



    Edit: throttle body has been serviced twice in 80k km i dont think it might be the cause because on CNG its perfect.
    Also there is some tak tak tak sound when engine is running idle (whether on petrol or CNG)
    Also the clutch bearings need changing but i dont have budget for that right now, i still doubt its not the cause because its fine on CNG.

    Sounds like problem with fuel supply system.

    Problem can be from bad injectors to a clogged fuel filter.
    I think it's an injector problem. I'd suggest to pay a visit at nazir autos and discuss the issue with them. Dealership people only knows how to replace a part. They will simply suggest that injectors need to be replaced. Nazir auto has the facility of cleaning injectors which can resolve your issue.

    Thanks for the reply, where is nazir autos?
    Do you know when the fuel filters needs to be changed? as far as i remember i have never changed it

    Bad or block resonator in your downpiping.or else this problem is common in santro n she opened the air filter box right after that jerk, general service is required, replace both fuel filter, disassemble the manifold n wash it with carb cleaner, then check plugs cz this could cause back fire n due to blockage you wont heard it,

    so what exactly do i tell the mechanics to do? apart from fuel filter what else... because its perfect on CNG.

    check for plug cables...
    people who use Highbeams.. once day would suffer too bigtime. People who drive slow on fast lanes, remember one day a vehicle carryin ur son, dad might get late to hospital coz people like u. underaged driving will land u in bigtime trouble one day or the other.. And the Blue indication light on ur speedometer denotes "High Beams"

    Nazir autos is in G-8. You can google their location also.
    Fuel filter is a must change at 40k. Fuel filter might be the culprit and fuel pump also goes bad due to excessive use of CNG. if your car's fuel filter is never changed. change it asap as it will get worse. Fuel filter costs around 5k-9k for a genuine one.
    And no prob. feel free to ask anything else .

    Running On CNG....Fuel System Might Get Choked With Dust And No Wonder The Advancer/Emulator Is Not Matching Upto Specs Throwing CEL..

    Check The Error Codes 1st To Determine What Is Actually Wrong.......!! Get The Codes Scanned And Fix Them.....

    There Are Couple Of Things which Can Go Wrong Here......

    Few days back my civic also give same jerk on acceleration .. left engine mount was broken .. changed it and now very smooth ride .. my car is vti prosmatec..

    Well i got it checked through OBD, everything was fine. Honda mechanic suspected fuel filter but i never got it opened. 2 weeks back i went again to honda and they removed all the CNG wiring and asked me to test now. The problem went away, he said your advancer/emulator is the problem.
    Since i was not sure when will i get new, i asked him to put CNG wiring back after that the problem still did not come back except once (but in that case car was dropping rpms on cng too)

    So conclusion is that either advancer/emulator is bad as some times it gives problem. Or simply the wiring was loose/dirty. For now the car is fine

    I would first inspect MAF/ MAP sensor for its correct input. If it has something related to mechanical i,e transmission or anything it would do on CNG too. The only thing bypassed on CNG is either O2(havent seen anyone do that) probably you are pkdm so you wont have O2 and MAP/MAF sensor. Clean it and hook a scanner to see what values are you getting. Next thing i would check fuel pressure and if that is fine ill go to injector inspection

    Today visited my mechanic and he took a drive then when he opened the bonnet he said ho gya theek, I asked how, he showed me a piece and said ye iska sensor bahir nikla hua tha lga ni hua tha, and he said ye petrol kahan se dalwaya tha wahan se na dalwayen, r isko ab hi-octane dalwa k chalayen
