Default Oil Chamber Seal Leaking-Civic 1997

    Dear All,

After getting the oil changed last week. the car started leaking oil not much its around few drops over night. My concern is why this happened after changing the oil this time, it was not happening before. The oil filter took some time to get off this time? could this be the reason.

I went to the mechanic who changed the oil and inquired that if the oil filter or chamber bolt is loose he said inspected and said that both the things are fine and the oil is leaking from chamber seal. The seal needs to be replaced.

Does anyone know that what should be the cost for changing the chamber seal that is the labor + seal cost foc civic 1997. he asked for Rs 1800 labor and 350-400 for the seal and 150 for silicon.

The mechanic told me that the engine will have to be lifted to replace the seal. what other work things that can be check and worked upon now as the engine will lifted.

    Regards
