Default civic vti 2002 - hand brake cable

    Assalam o alaikom.

I hope all my pakwheeelr fellows would be in best of their health. I ve civic vti 2002, 65k on the odo. It remains parked most of the time n i oftenly park it in P with hand brakenlever completely down . But Last week i parked car some where, once i pulled hand brake.. It sounded like tukk n hand brake lever went free, it felt as detached from cables..
Yesterday i went to honda drive in as i always maintain my car from there.. i ve got good terms with their mechanical advisors due regular visits.. After geting it inspected from them, they said both the cables are detahed from the lever at the point where its connected to hoook sort of arrangement of the lever... Rest of he cable is intact...
Now my question is, can this issue be resolved by getting it repaired instead of getting complete set of cables changed??? Please help me on this...

    Regards

Get new ones and you pull the lever too hard. i.e. too much up. just pull it to the point where the car would not budge much. I had the same car.

if the hooks have come out of the slots, only, then its not an issue.

dont know what honda would charge but any road side mechanic would do it easily for 500 rupees.
care is to be taken while pulling the plastic part of hand brake console (rear ash tray side).

the hooks and cable is just like brake/accelerator cable of bike/car.

and in case the you need to replace the cable, the best quality comes for Rs.1700 that they clain to be genuine.

    I HOPE IT HELPS.
