Default Weird Sound from Honda Civic 2013!

    Hello friends!

I bought a used Honda Civic Oriel 2013 3 days ago. Its mileage was 3770 Km and now its 4100 Km. Everything of the car is perfect and I love its drive. But yesterday I noticed something. I heard a sound from rear (coming from trunk) as i drove over uneven or bumpy road. The sound was similar to the sound which arises from a drum, half filled with water. "Groohm Groohm" as it was liquid shifting its position inside a drum. Its usually heard when there are no passengers. My question is that Is this normal?

    Plz reply

    Thumbs down Why buy it?...

First of all I want to ask, Why did you buy a used car?!!! I am sure if you can afford a 2013 used Civic then you can also afford a new 2013 Civic. And if you can't afford a new one you should have bought any other less expensive but new car. Oh well, too late now.

Secondly, please do as raza115 has suggested.

    Thanks for ur reply!

@ mehran: I am also against buying a used car. But I bought this car from a reliable person. The problem is not that big. I only hear this sound when I drive quickly thru the bumpy road once in a while, not always. I was just asking other members having Civic 2013 whether they are having same issue or not!

My Two cents. It's the sound of fuel inside your fuel tank AND/OR sound of water in the washer bottle. Exactly happens in the city, same happens in the 2013 civic in the family. To verify, empty your window washer bottle and then check. But If it's from rear, consume the fuel tank AND when less than quarter tank is left, check again. Sound won't be there. I promise

Exactly the same reason i read in an international blog, but i dont think so. I also had a city 2011 but haven't heard such sound. The sound is usually heard when there is an imbalance between the rear tyres, when both tyres run over a jump simultaneously it nevers produce a sound.

thts the resonance created due to bad sound proofing...common in old version as well, just ignore it and turn up the fancy stereos volume when on bad road.

If your car has done less than 20,000 kms take it to the Honda dealer and the mechanic will take a test drive in your car and check it. They're actually replacing and fixing stuff under warranty without crying a fuss. I got my cars dashboard squeaking noises sorted out for free.
After your car is no longer under warranty they will charge you for everything.
And no, that sound is not normal. Get it checked.

Today I took my car to Honda and explained the problem. They had a test drive and they also heard the same sound. They checked the suspension and shocks and reached the conclusion that the sound comes from the fuel tank!
