Sir caltex is 5/40 whereas honda(total) is 5/30..and it is the recommended grade for honda engines..:-)

Ziyad.Ahmad.391, give Liqui Moly 5W-30 a try, and you won't be disappointed.

You can easily keep the drain interval at 8k. If u feel uncomfortable with that figure, change your oil filter at 4k, top up the oil and run till 8k.

I have successfully run the above on 2 x R18 Civics, and my own Cuore with 10W-40 MoS2 is at 5k nearly without a hint of problem, Alhamdolillah.

Strange. We are all using 5/40 on our turbo Honda`s with very good results.

I recently did the switch from FUCHS 10/40 to Caltex FS 5/40 and saw a very healthy increase in Oil Pressure/ Oil Temperature readings and with no issues of the level getting low.

I used to change FUCH at every 500-600 Kms , and i think i will stick to this one till 1.5 or 2k Kms.

Dear Good Man can you kindly answer the followig questions

    1. Which oil grade does Honda use for Honda City 14

    2. Which other better options are out there including LM with their price and SCI

    3. Also guide which oil filter to use ? Shouldn't be any local brand like guard etc

    Thanks

Lots of other options than LM for fully synthetic 5W-30. Shell, and Caltex from my knowledge. Maybe more.

Which car are u asking for? I can check and recommend more relevantly that way.

You are welcome to try the LM 5W-30, as it is tried and tested in Corolla/Fielder/Axio already.

If want to go the fully synthetic route, cannot but support the LM 5W-40 enough, which have used in a friend's 2012 Corolla about 1700km ago. He loves the performance of the car after that oil change, and it seems to be more willing especially fm stand still, getting out of U turns and corners. A slightly increased mileage number also reported by him just yesterday(which is how I know his current miles on the oil)

At first I thought that there is some problem with my engine but then I again poured 5w-30 Genuine Honda oil fully synthetic instead of Caltex 5w-40. Car is running totally fine with no oil level dropping problems at all. Been using Genuine Honda oil 52-30 for last 4 oil changes and absolutely no problems.
Pick and power of car remained same however I noticed better fuel economy. I'd suggest to use engine flush while switching from mineral to synthetic oil and give Genuine Honda Fully synthetic oil or Shell helix ultra fully synthetic a try. Been hearing good reviews about it shell.
Honda 3S is not offering two fully synthetic oils.
    1. Total for Rs 2399/-
    2. Caltex for Rs 3000/-

what would you say now as now this is recommended by Honda.
I have selected Caltex wala fully synthetic this time. and I will share my experience.

    2. Caltex for Rs 3000/-

what would you say now as now this is recommended by Honda.
I have selected Caltex wala fully synthetic this time. and I will share my experience.
Bro i seriously doubt as to whether 3s are using caltex 5w40 coz both of their synthetic ouls(as per ive heard) are from total one is sm grade( 2400) and other is sn grade( 3000)..The caltex 5w40 available from the market is a very gud oil bud sadly it is too viscous for our civic engines..poor fuel economy and decreased pickup is what happens..so please share with us the grade that honda is offering in caltex fully synthetic???
