That is GT road means no sudden acceleration/Deceleration , you would be driving @60-70km/h dont say 120 now

When did i say that in the first place? Roza lug rha hai already?
Speeds 80-100 depending upon traffic but accelerating after slowing down destroys average!

But I know that from this civic even at a constant speed of 80 km/h-100km/h you cannot get 17+km/l

I might be wrong, but from what I have read about the Honda Hybrid system, it is on all the time. The electric part and the engine are on the same drive shaft (the electric part is helping the engine all the time - however the amount of help varies based on conditions) unlike the Toyota system where either one or the other is providing power to the wheels. In the Toyota system there is a switch over form electric to engine depending on the conditions (usually around 60km/h or so). Please note, I don't have any first hand experience, just what I have read in the net.

My 2007 does the same. Made a trip to Sialkot and back on the GT road. I was very surprised to get around 17.5 km/l. However my speed was an average of 80-90km/h or so.

It works when car is accelerating , but at constant speed of 100 it doesn't work except for it recharges the battery and turns off the engine when you release the gas pedal

Even at constant speed of 100km/h , due to salt range / other factors the meter showed 92-4 km/h , if that is in your civic you'll see driving at an average speed of 55-60km/h on gt road

I left Isloo for Sialkot very early in the morn in the Janauary. Not too much traffic at that time in Winter on GT road, made good time on the road.

    Ummm
Wesay to I hardly drive it on long routes and other members can comment better on that
But whenever I have driven it on long , it gave 16 plus avg but yes between 60 to 70 km/hr and mostly with cruise control on and eco on too

I really want to purchase any good hybrid for daily within city drive and drive during peak rush hours at signals and traffic jams so I can save some money
Daily drive varies between 60 to sometimes even 100 kms
And currently we are using swift for that
Trouble free rough and tough and really fast car but avg is not good at all around 7 to 10
    And In hybrids
Insight is a good car but previous prius and insight both don't really have a good appearance esp from back
New prius is really nice but too expensive
Honda fit hybrid looks beautiful but I think will have a poor resale
The only hybrid car that brings a wow factor is 8th gen Honda civic hybrid 2010 plus model that is face lift version but according to ppl it's not that good sluggish and not even that economical like other hybrids
And yes maintenance and spare part availability and any good mechanic for the car incase of any mechanical issue are still a big question mark I think
