    Default Hard steering problem

    Salaam All.
My car has a power steering but its kinda hard. I find it difficult to even turn with one hand. Although i should be able to turn it with even a finger. I could think of 2 main causes for this problem. Firstly, i checked air in front wheels, it was normal i.e. 30 or so. Second, i checked hydraulic oil. It was at average level, i still poured some more oil into it. But no luck. The problem still exists.
I need expert views. What thing is causing this problem and what steps should i take to tackle it? Believe me, its really annoying.

Check the level of power steering fluid. If it is slow inspect for any leaks around the power steering pipe and reservoir. Btw which car is it

This problem is very common in 7th gen civic....mine had too...Steering got very very hard at times and normal sometimes....had to replace Power pump....it was around 10k at that time I guess I don't Remember the exact price....Desi mechanics also suggest an alteration (I-e Power Pump of xli that costs around 3-4k)...About 7th gen civic, Don't turn full steering, this causes PS problems...

Dont palm the steering - only turn it when the car is moving, dont hold it at full lock. These actions put a lot of load on the steering hydraulics.

Have you changed to wider tires?

Wider tires give more contact thus more friction and more load for the PS.
