are you sure fluid level is ok? there might be air bubbles in the lines... perhaps get bleeding done and how long since you changed your last oil?

Any signs of leak around hoses clamps etc? I still suspect there is air in your lines which is causing bubbles and hence throwing out oil

I ran my car for a month with this sound but of course it is not good to delay the needed repairs... The excess stress will cause the pump to wear out soon (which is much expensive than the leak repair)
Get it repaired as soon as you can, this leak problem + bleeding + new oil won't cost you much

This generation's power steering pump has a high rate of failure. I have gone through 2 in the last ten years I've kept my 96 Civic. The grinding sound is due to internal wear and tear. You will need to get the pump replaced. Fortunately its not an expensive part, you can source a working pump from the junkyard pretty easily. Just remember to flush the lines and use genuine Honda power steering fluid only. Stay away from Abracadabra Power Steering Fluids.

Brother either you keep driving it like that till the sound is bearable.

Remedy is to buy a kabli pump from Bilal Gunj for Rs. 2,000/-.

    New one is for Rs.12,500/-

I have faced similar problem with my honda civic car EXI 2006. Recently my power steering pump main supply pipe got leaked and unluckily my wife was driving the car and she unknowingly drove the car with very low level of power steering oil and that probably caused the pump to start giving sound. I got it checked from many mechanics and they all say that the pump has become faulty due to dry running and now require replacement with new or refurbished pump which is around Rs 5000 to 6000. So its my advice that never try to run the P/S pump with low level or without oil. Khawaja Jodat. Wapda town lahore. 03474407108

Bleed the system. Turn lock to lock and reservior cap opened. I generally keep doing partial fluid replacement from time to time by sucking out fluid from reservoir..it keeps the system noise free and is very easy to do as compare to taking the pipes off which create a big mess.

Replacement is cheap, i replaced one on my city (same pump) 2 years ago for 2500/- its working fine uptill now. Usually when the pump is really starting to fail, it will give a faint tuk tuk noise like those water sucking machines make. I kept driving in that condition for 3,4 months until the noise became more prominent and one day the pump failed completely vomiting oil all over.. took off the belt and had the pump replaced.

Wait for the tuk tuk noise ... thats when you really need to replace the pump. meanwhile replace the oil, fix the leaks and keep the system ncie and clean.
