    Default Honda Civic Prosmatec - CNG?

    Hello All,
    I have a Honda Civic Prosmatec '07, with 5k on the odometer. Since I'm traveling at a minimum 100Kms a day, petrol has certainly become un-affordable and am seriously thinking of installing CNG. The good thing is that I live in Karachi, and stations are mostly open during the week.

    For those who have similar model/year cars and have CNG please give suggestions on the following;
    - CNG brand?
    - CNG installation & kit cost?
    - Mileage on civic automatic?
    - Any degradation of engine or pick up?

    Looking forward to hearing from you soon.

    CNG brand= Landirenzo
    CNG intalltion+kit cost= 56k(CNG club near islamia college)
    MIleage 120 to 130 with A/C
    There will be little knocking when you want to use it on petrol and the solution is to add at least 10litres of High octane in your tank with normal petrol there will be pick different compare to petrol and there will be no missing on CNG

    5k kms/....Waowww..Dont use cng period..FOr a brand new engine
    The one thing that unites all human beings, regardless of age, gender, religion, economic status, is that, deep down inside, we all believe that we are above-average drivers.

    Damage to the valve seats and higher burning temperature of cng will eventually lead u into overheating problems. It sounds awesome to drive a civic with such low fuel cost (cng) but the pleasure is destroyed due to constant shifting of gears especally if u r driving in rush hours. The constant gear shifting will also heat up the transmission and reduce its service life.

    LPG is better than CNG because it atleast delivers better power at specific rpms but the burning temps remain high. I have tested my civic on both cng and petrol with temperature reading from obd port. CNG does burn hot.. thats the reason u see so many cars with heat up and gasket issues.

    its true that cng burns hotter and causes valve damage, but that differs by design from engine to engine. newer toyota 1.3 gets damaged by cng in no time but r18 runs fine. all suzuki engines including liana(if treated like a modern car), all varients of corolla, honda civic idsi and sx8, run fine on cng. the cars that give problems are some japanese imports(specific models), corolla 1.3 vvti and badly tuned carby vehicles.
