    Default Honda Civic Prosmatec - CNG?

    Hello All,
    I have a Honda Civic Prosmatec '07, with 5k on the odometer. Since I'm traveling at a minimum 100Kms a day, petrol has certainly become un-affordable and am seriously thinking of installing CNG. The good thing is that I live in Karachi, and stations are mostly open during the week.

    For those who have similar model/year cars and have CNG please give suggestions on the following;
    - CNG brand?
    - CNG installation & kit cost?
    - Mileage on civic automatic?
    - Any degradation of engine or pick up?

    Looking forward to hearing from you soon.

    It's true. CNG quality does vary from region to region even from station to station. Here in Lahore, I once got 7.3 kg CNG filled in empty cylinder and my car (cultus efi) gave 142 km precisely. I used it in city with some partial ac use and always 4 people sitting in car. That is almost 19.5 km/kg. Mileage depends on different factors: cc, driving condition, quality of fuel, engine condition.

    [QUOTE=fahadwizz;4378520]Damage to the valve seats and higher burning temperature of cng will eventually lead u into overheating problems. It sounds awesome to drive a civic with such low fuel cost (cng) but the pleasure is destroyed due to constant shifting of gears especally if u r driving in rush hours. The constant gear shifting will also heat up the transmission and reduce its service life.

    THats the reason I dropped the Idea of getting a Civic prosmatec which would run on GNG
    He told me that after approx every 15 months you will have to change gearbox or cluthc plates etc due to heat up issue and gear shifting issue due to power fluctuation with CNG.

    there is a difference in mileage from SNGP & SSGC gas. SNGP has apparently greater thermal energy. plus usually in dry weather people get higher mileages out of a KG.
