Default Brake pad issue for civic hybrid

    Salam everyone.
I wanna change my front brake pads for civic hybrid. Today visited honda 3s dealer they r not sure that whether the brake pad of civic will fit on it or not. They will confirm it after opening the tyre. They r asking too much for new brake pad, service n brake oil.

Need ur suggestion whether to change the brake pads from dealer or buy the brake pads and installed them from my own mechanic aka ustaaad.

Honda gave me budget of ard 13000 only for front barke pads n service.

Now need suggestion from expert that from where i can get the original brake pads or the Thailand brake pad in karachi or should i opted honda 3s for brake issue.

    Thanks in advance

You can always find a genuine pad from a trusted person anyways its personal preference!
I went to honda to get CVT oil change of my Honda Insight just because i couldn't trust oils sold outside in market as if they were fake then they could have damaged my CVT transmission but i did homework before too and they just took 300 extra not 4 * for that but 13 k for brake pads ? Serious ?

I got my Nissan Pino (JDM) brake pad for just 1300 it doesnt matter i f they work original or fake but they are working fine! Without any sound would ask for reborns brake pads too!

Arrow Brake pads for 8th gen Civic hybrid

There are many ways you could go around this:

    1. Buy the cheapest possible brake pads form the market. Now take the wheel off and compare the outlook with the fitted pad. Most probably it would look same. If it doesn't, only then you have to buy from Honda.
NOTE: It is not necessary if the other brand pad fits, it would also provide the same braking experience (i.e pedal feel, brake bite, fade resistance, durability, noise, stopping distance).

    2. The replacement pads are Nissin (brand name). This you can find at plaza. (point is, if they were NBK, then they could only be found at dealerships, as NBK sell only to car manufacturer, they never sell to shops, in fact it is written that if NBK is available at any shop in the world it is fake because we only sell to company). On this I LOL because in City and Civic from showroom, there are Nissin pads and when you to to Honda 3S, they give you Sumitomo in Honda genuine packing. Therefore it is not necessary that company use same parts in factory and same in workshop.

    3. Look here: 45022-S5B-J00 - Honda PAD SET, FR.. Now look here: Amazon.com: Honda Genuine OEM Front Brake Pads - 45022-S5B-J00; 2003 to 2011 Civic Hybrid: Automotive. Anyway, just ask the lady/gent on the spare parts counter to punch this number and whether they have this in stock? And which car does this fit in. Apparently, the brake pad of petrol civic is different for 7th gen and 8th gen. But brake pad for hybrid civic is same for 7th gen and 8th gen. I guess simple prosmatec pad could fit (I mean first time when prosmatec came, in 7th gen).

    4. Pretty much take the pad out at any mechanic's and take to parts shop for getting a lookalike. If the pad is anything like the other, the shopkeeper would immediately find a replacement.

    5. A good place to ask is Khan motors on Korangi road. They stock for all sorts of cars e.g JDM, german and american also.

Are you sure ? If you are, then you are challenging the judgement of almost everybody who drove civic. This statement can be said for cow but Civic ? That,s a bit of too much overstatement because the last time i checked, the car was fully in control even at 190kph.

Nissan errrrr what u mean Cefiro ?

Brother trust me a 1992 Ferio with D15B can easily run circles around Nissan so called Sunny Super Saloon.

Whatever Reborn you have driven deserves to be dismantled and sold to kabar shopkeepers that way it will benefit more to the owner.

My good old 2005 EXi with more than 200,000 km on ODO stuffed with cng cylinder still leaves 'genyaan japani' applied for registration Wingroads and Note in dust.
