Default Engine Mounts: civic 1997 vti

    Dear all,

Can u please tell the symptoms of bad engine mounts. infact i had them changed a couple of weeks ago with kabli ones but every time i change the grear there is some kind of jerk and its more prominent of CNG.
i had the tunning done the same day so i am not sure that if its the engine mounts or some thing to do with the settings???
Every time i release the clutch there is some tuk kind of a sound coming from the from eninge.

    Regards

Also check balance rod bushes and strut mount for cracking and looseness.

also check your clutch plate, bearing and throw out arm.. grease every thing.. and change the hydraulic clutch fluid... its a one man job and takes at the very maximum about 30 mins. bleed the air as well.

The problem is that i am not able to daignose it properly till now that what is the actual problem. is it mounts or balance rod/kich or something else. i dont want to waste time and money. most of the mechanincs here do not know themselves that what is the actual problem

i had the clutch plate changed last year and the mounts changed two weeks ago

One TUK sound is not that of mount i guess...

But if you want to confirm, here is the procedure:
One way is to visually inspect the mounts while the car is on lift, second is to put your car on hand-brake, open the bonnet and have some one stand at front and ask him to keep any eye on engine + mounts.
Inside you have to put it in gear and release clutch just enough for the engine to make effort to move then quickly press it back down. This will cause the body to stay still while engine moves on the mounts.

If it is hitting the mount (sound of metal), or vibration is too much and does not subside in timely manner then your mount is broken. A good mechanic can instantly identify it...

Got the mount replaced with a new one. it sounds better now. Got the steering repaired as well.
Now the suspension part got it checked from two or three different places. Every one said it confirm the front shockers. one of them said that u have metal linkers replace it with the original plastic and replace the D-bush of the balance rod before replacing the shockers.
So will be doing this in the coming week.

Any suggestion and comments are more the welcome.

regardless the problem is from mounts or not get them changed with new ones , either oem honda ones or the best first copy (thailand) dont go for anything else , any rubber part that goes into the car should be changed with new , its plain stupidity (please dont mind) to put used bushes and mounts, change them today or u will have to change them tomorrow either way and in between u will keep having problems like u are having , the best approach is spend a little cash one time , if the bushings in ur link arms are bad change all the bushings right and left , even the ones that seem fine to you, alongwith ball joints , once these things are renewed u will feel that the buttery smooth drive civics are known for, because all these parts damp out and share eachothers vibrations, basically they support eachother if u replace one and leave the other u wont get the result and if u put good oem parts i can gurantee u that till the time u have this car u wont need to get any work done in ur suspension. moreover ur car is old so the rubber parts are already due for replacement doesnt matter the km car has run , rubber parts have their life.
