Default Petrol consumption wise which honda civic model is the best.

Last year I purchased a used Honda civic exi prosmatec 2006. During discussion with my friends some said that do not buy vti as it has a big engine 1600 cc so it will consume more fuel. Now after buying exi and usually hear that though the vti has a big engine as compared to exi but due to improved and advanced engine technology it still consume lesser fuel as compared with exi. Can anyone advice me which statement is correct. Khawaja Jodat Chemical Engr Wapda Town.

Honda Civic VTi gives better fuel efficiency. As you go for the newer models, the fuel efficiency increases. The 9th gen is more fuel efficient than the 8th gen, the 8th gen more fuel efficient than the 7th gen.... because newer models incorporate newer technology or are more streamlined and efficient.

On a side note, an automatic will consume more fuel than a manual.

P.S you ride is the 7th gen non-VTEC civic

Dear I have both one 2004 VTI and the other 2005 EXI but both are auto. My VTI gives around 9.5 km/Litter in city drive and the EXI gives 10.5 in city commute. But it all depends on your driving style. This 7-gen D16W9 is 3-stage VTEC 1-Stage is econo VTEC but the other two stages are not econo so if you strech it to limits it may feels and drives a little faster than and exi but at that time it consumes more fuel then an exi.
It takes 8,460 bolts to assemble an automobile, and one nut to scatter it all over the road.

my cousin sold his exi 06 prosmatech to my colleauge few months back
according to him in lhr traffic with AC, the car would usually do 8km/ltr
however on long the same car does 12-14km/ltr

96-2000 VTI's (auto's) are better in fuel consumption,
then the current running shape is also better(you can get 10.5 with AC in city )
(all the auto civic's in between give crap mileage no matter what people say, exi ho ya vti ya reborn)
Life is short and very unpredictable just like a Quarter mile .....

8th gen civic manual. 11km/l with AC in local with normal foot.
Goes upto 12.8 with light foot.
14-16km/l on long with AC depending upon driving conditions.
