Last year I purchased a used Honda civic exi prosmatec but since its purchase I am noticing a rattling sound from front suspension while I drive over the rough road or potholes. This noise is like as some rubber parts are loose. I changed front shocks mountings, front suspension rubber bushes and ball joints with new ones but this noise is still coming. Then again changed front shocks and springs with Kabuli ones but no change observed. I also got checked the front steering rack tie rod ends and these are Okay. Do you think this sound is producing due to excess play in steering rack or may be the engine and automatic transmission rubber mountings are worn out. Please give me a advice as I am very worried.

No it is not the brake pads making noise. It is something else. I asked some people about the this noise and told them that it could be due to play in steering rack but all say that the mostly the power steering racks do not wear out easily. Yes I agree with your suggestion for checking the engine and rack mountings. Today I contacted a spare part dealer and he quoted me the front engine and automatic transmission mountings for Rs 5000 for four pieces.
well uzeem you know your buissness that was the first think that came to my mind also those brake caliper noises are hard to trace butt are the most common ones for non tracebale rattling
I'm pretty sure it's the brake calipers which are a little loose. Get Teflon bushes made for the caliper bolts and you should be good. These bolts wear out over time and become slightly loose.
But the rattling noise I hear from my car front suspension is not metallic sound. It is rather like some rubber part is loose. Well I will check this point as well this weekend. Thanks
I guess its because of power steering rack ......... as there is damper nut between the steering rack rod which rattles ...... if it gets loose as u are mentioning u have checked all other parts like pinion, tie rod, shocks etc
After very long time I finally succeeded to find the cause of vibration like sound from front suspension of my honda civic exi 2006. This happened when I went to Bilal Gunj Lahore to change my power steering rack or kangi and found that the inner tie rod ends are very loose. Though these do not have play if these are pulled back and forth but when these are placed in the middle then these tie rods fell down under its weight, this shows that these are very loose. So I repaired the tie rod ends from machinist and now the sound has disappeared.
same was the case with my vti. The whole steering rack had to be fixed. the tie rod ends were totally loose
Tie rod ends are a regular inspection item. Usually, people never get them inspected, until they are damaged badly enough to require repair/replacement.
The front disc brake pads need to be checked. Replace if required. Your problem shall be solved.
