Default Honda civic exi 1998 ac not working upto the mark

    Hello dear members,
Need help from you guys regarding the ac problem in my Honda civic exi 1998.

The ac was not working well when the car was stationary also it used to take much more load while the car was moving. The electrician told me that the compressor is weak so you better change the compressor to get some effective cooling( the gauges were showing a back pressure of 45-50 psi secondly I have not got the ac serviced for 2 years )

So I bought a compressor, an evaporator and a condenser from bilal ganjj Lahore.( I got the review from 4 electricians- everybody was saying the all the components are just like brand new- quite good condition) and also a new ac filter that is a pre-requisite for a new compressor. So in other words, Installed the new whole unit (work done by an electrician known to me in Lahore).
It worked very nice for a couple of days and after around 20 days of installation, the compressor started giving a very nasty sounds and it stopped cooling. As I am a native of FSD so I visited the electrician here,he told me that your compressor has blown out and is filled with carbon and is unable to use anymore.
so i replaced the compressor and filter and made the condenser cleaned with a gas ( 11 number gas- the name as it is known in the market). The electrician used Westron r134a gas as refrigerant.
Even after all such efforts, I am unable to enjoy the real pleasure of AC as its not working upto the mark( Thandd naii lagata not even at night).
Electrician in Faisalabad told me that you had made a wrong choice while purchasing a used condenser.

    So plz suggest me
    - how can I make my car ac's cooling effective enough so that it can make the car chilled?
-whether a change of condenser will resolve the issue if so then which condenser should i use?
-what is the efficiency of westron r134a compared with genetron r134a?
    Thanks

what oil and how much of it was used? was the condenser in good condition? parallel flow condensers cannot be cleaned out due to their design - you are stuck with replacing them only.

The other part is that there is no back pressure - what you are calling back pressure is called head pressure at the compressor. What was the high side pressure when the low was 45 psi? If your compressor was shot it wont do much of compressing.

Using generic mineral oil in low quantity in an R134 system will ensure that the A/C unit is destoyed in short time - Best to find a proper A/C mechanic

the SPAL fan will require a rewire as its a very heavy duty motor, It also depends on model.

Make sure you buy a correct fan - meaning if you are choosing a pusher - then make sure it actually is a pusher fan - do not try to run it backwards - the airflow is useless that way.

one little issue with a SPAL fan with straight blades,

your car will be heard from atleast from 1000 yards away that you are enjoying A/C lol

Well the mechanic runs his workshop on Jail road with the name "Jeddah Motor workshop"
I went to B&M traders and Bilal Traders and asked them regarding the qualities of westron and genetron R134a, they both voted for genetron.
Previously, with the same condenser, the cooling was really nice, dont know whether that was due to genetron gas or the compressor, but all i can say is that was way better than what I have after installing another compressor.
N again I am planning to buy a new condenser and will charge the unit with genetron R134a

Well, I dont know the actual quantity of oil that was put in. The condenser I bought was real clean.
n sir, u mean to say that i must go for a brand new condenser though rather than a used genuine condenser which I am using rite now.

And plz tell me one thing, on idle condition while the car was parked rite in sunlight, when i put some water on it, I saw freezing water mist on the flowing pipes and the cooling in the cabin was way improved. Is this the issue of condenser or the Westron gas quality?

I have seen many of the mechanic they just quote the low side pressure, they dont even bother to look at the other guage, just

the refrigerant wont do much if the rest of the system is not upto task, e.g. if you charge by "tukka" and "hawaee fire andaaza" then forget about any A/C performance.

you need to charge by weight and also need to fill oil correctly with the correct type too, Dont simply fill "compressor aail"

It should be mentioned somewhere in the engine bay or in the service manual.

btw approx much cfm does an spal fan push? how much for oem ones? reason i'm asking is that i'm also planning to change my condenser fan, it looks like an spal fan with 8 blades but its flow is negligible (running from relay). on the other hand the radiator fan is a standard 4 blade and it moves tonnes more air as compared to condenser fan..

the 13 inch curved blade spal fan in pull type can pull about 1300 cfm air at static pressure. OE fans installed by manufacturers are less than half of that.
