goto any oil n lube shop and buy 2.5 litres of caltex rpm delo 500 (aka delo Gold) - use that. It performs the best. Total fill is approximately 2400 ml. Make sure the car is completely level when you fill the oil

capacity is around 2.3 litres bro for 00 civic exi .... it seems your car was jacked or tilted thats why it got less oil or may be old one not properly drained ...... did it actually overflowed while the car was on level surface with all tyres touching ground?

no big issue bro .... man learns from others mistakes .... in your case it was that damn mechanic .... any way u have 0.5 litre left .... just open the filling bolt while ur car is on a level surface and start filling till the time oil overflow from filling bolt ... this means it is full , no other way than this and u r good to go ..... word of advice place a pan under gear box to avoid spilling on floor .... though seem very pity amount but u are responsible to protect environment
