Question Engine oil dipstick issue in civic 99 vti oriel automatic

    Hi All PW'S.

Hope all of you are fine and enjoying their life in best way.

Unfortunately, The engine oil dipstick got broken by itself. For getting new one I went to Junkyard for buying the dipstick for my engine D16Y5 Vtec -E Engine.

As D16 is not available in market so its dipstick is also not available. They person in junkyard showed me the dipstick of D15 engine and said that both D16 and D15 have same engine oil dipstick- no difference at all. i amazed to hear these words.

Now I want to know from experts @racerali @capsat @Xulfiqar that D15 and D16 have same engine oil dipstick or having some difference in length of dipstick.

buy a new one from any Honda parts seller. The If your engine is original to the car, the dipstick would be sticking out from the valve cover, a swapped out engine can have it between the headers of the exhaust manifold.

New, original dipsticks are sold at the parts stores.

The 3s dealership didn't have dipstick for my model civic 99 vti oriel automatic. They have to place order for dipstick. It will take 2-3 days to reach at dealership. Then I will buy from them.

I have the swap the engine assembly only to D16Y5 Vtec-E which is same as original engine assembly that is the dipstick is sticking out from the valve cover-dipstick is present near to timing foundation.

But my question is still un-answerable that either D15 and D16 have same dipstick or have some variation in length?

there is a variation in length depending on the oil sump style, if its the cast aluminium sump with fins - it has a shorter dipstick, its only short about a cm or so.

is your dipstick handle broken only?

the dipstick has broken from where it has been tight in dipstick nozzle. Unfortunately my brother threw the broken dipstick in outside garbage in the absence of me. This is the main problem for matching new with broken one that I didn't have.
