    Default 8th gen civic ( Reborn) Auto Transmission Filter Change?

    Does anybody have experience of changing the atf filter on the 8th civic?? If yes what was the price and labour frm honda 3s???

      your car would have an external round barrel filter on the cooler line, check for it.

      @Xulfiqar..Yup it has an external filter..I Also wanted to know what are the symptoms that i shuld luk out for if it needs changing? Coz my car makes a whining noise(sort of like an airplane makes when its landing) at around 60km/h(55-60 km/h range) during light acceleration and decceleration with the torque convertor locked up..very faint sound when its unlocked .could u please tell me what could be the cause?

      a whine during acceleration from a standstill is normal - its the sound the torque converter churning the ATF, if you feel a buzz or feels like rough road driving then its the torque converter lockup clutch facing stiction issues, usually this is manifested after you change your ATF to a regular dexron type and not an HFM type ATF, in Honda case it can also be severely beat up ATF due to its poor ATF fill capacity.
