      You are comparing apples to oranges, my objection isn't that Honda civic isn't a safe car. My main concern is that the metal being used in Pakistani civic isn't the same thickness/strength as the one in US/Japan.

      There is no question about the metal. I dont think atlas or honda use a low class metal here , no chance mate. Its just that we lack all the safety features in our cars which are standard abroad .

      @OP:

      There's no need to provide USDM models' information in the opening post now. It makes it unnecessarily long to scroll down to read the new posts. Please consider removing the redundant information and pictures, or decreasing it. Thanks.

      Devaluation has little to do with it in this particular case since Yen also went down against the dollar and those savings were never passed on to the consumer here. They are double dipping and padding their profits but still crying wolf with the same old song.

      @fazalwahab11375 : Please remove the junk in first post and link to posts containing the pics, instead. It's a pain scrolling down so much on notebook PCs and mobile phones each time when loading a new page since the first post appears on every new page. It also needlessly wastes internet bandwidth.

      XE.com - PKR/JPY Chart

      10 years ago 1 PKR equaled 2 yen, whereas now its 1 for 1, so a 100% drop.

      The one thing that has disappointed me the most is the cluster meter - they should at least give the USDM (blue one) in turbo instead of the one found in base models.

      Just overheard that 1.8 version would cost 27 lacs and Turbo one 28 lacs.

      Honda was waiting for the budget before deciding final price of new Civic and as usual, despite some rumors, Government didn't announce any benefit for consumers by reducing duty on imported cars. The ministers (read sinisters) must have made millions (on personal accounts) from Toyota, Honda and Suzuki on this. Anyways that have encouraged the likes of Honda to charge any increase over current prices as they like. Had there been some relief for consumers on imports, new civic prices would have been around 25. Now it's wishful thinking to expect price of Turbo version to be below 27 lacs.

      Another nice balanced article @fazalwahab11375
      Arguing with one point... "Honda did well in launching civic within 6 months of international launch".... But remember they skipped the launch of Honda City all together!!! Thats y they had the time and MONEY to do so...

      The 1.5 turbo is ahead Grande obviously, the real competition would be b/w 1.8 civic and Grande. The only thing civic has on Grande is the VSA+HSA and the rear AC ducts I guess. Other than that Grande makes more sense because of other free goodies like navi etc.

      Still paying 2+ lac for VSA and rear ducts, doesn't make much sense. Grande does give you other goodies to compensate the ones available in the 1.8 civic.

      The car is good compared to Pakistan's standard, yet comparing the total features with global model, they actually are RIPPING people off, sad set of affairs. We the unlucky Pakistanis!

      The thickness and strength must be the same beacuse these things are what honda Atlas can't change. It's specified by the Honda company.

      Whatever the pricing comes Honda always adds a few more goodies then Toyota. Corolla's were never a 2 mil + car but with the Grande even a used one in good condition is selling like hot cake at the moment. I think Honda will add some more features after they see what Toyota does with the Grande next year.
