Well.. Octane boosters.. Honda manual clearly says NO FUEL with MMT additives. All these so called boosters have MMT, magnesium based.. some even have lead.. over time you will see O2 sensors bye bye.. premature spark plugs damage and you will even see deposits on spark plugs even after single use.. add replacement of fuel filter prematurely. If you think you will add booster to increase octane and it will be good.. then you are mistaken.. it will start ruining your engine over time and if you use it regularly.. Wait for the Check Engine light. It will lit soon.

Also there is another big misconception. If octane booster says add this bottle and it will increase 5 or 7 points.. it's not making 87 become 92 or 94.. it increase point which is 0.5 or 0.7, so it will be 87.5 or 87.7..

OK Toyota, manual says 91 and didn't hurt sir @autophile car. But with due respect you will follow @autophile as per his experience or follow what Honda will tell you when you pick you keys to your new car.. As I said earlier cars are investment in Pakistan, people start thinking about resale before even buying , how come you will no follow what Honda tells you?

Refineries add hydrocarbons at molecular level to increase octane number. Yes Octane booster works a little but it comes with surprises and you cannot add it regularly.. your car engine is not like two stroke that you add engine oil to it. Also how you will claim warranty if you start hearing a different sound from engine or malfunction light in your cluster. A dealer will easily tell you.. you used a below rated fuel.

I have driven and driving turbo cars since 2003.. and I can tell you that using boosters will hurt you if you start using it regularly.

Bro if you really want civic then just go for regular 1.8 one. It's peace of mind.
With cvt it will be an altogether new car.
Plus 1.5T is really expensive. You can save that cash and go for some addons like body kit etc.

^^ bro u cant have an egg and an omelet too...
If u dont have the money issue then settle for 1.8 at present and may be after 6 months or a year u can shift to 1.5T once u knw that how has the car performed in the market and more reviews comes up. And im sure as the time will pass 1.5T delivery time will be the least once launch hype and ecstasy would be gone. Same as happened to Grande n GLi but it will happen for different reasons for AHL than Indus.

For all I would suggest that we shouldn't jump on conclusions ... yes civic is expensive especially turbo.
When on roads many people who are bashing including me will love it lol. And then hum sochay ge yaar thorray paisay daal k le letay yehi ... new tu hai. Grande ub 2 saal purani hoo gayi hai etc etc ( I am talking about oriel as turbo still is not worth the money )

And moreover there is still so much we don't know about the car like it's drive, performance, fuel efficiency, comfort and on road feel and stance.

So musalmano suber ka phul metha hi hota!!

Talked to All new honda civic 2016 page he said
Car will run on premium 91 ron available at Total pump it doesn't require 95 or 97 ron high octane
Else it will run fine on 60%regular 87ron and 40%95 high octane

Fazal bhai, the point I am trying to make is that it is manufacturer's recommendation to use 91 Ron inn civic 9th gen or corolla 10th gen including grande, but how many people actually use HOBC for these vehicles here in Pakista, perhaps less than 1%
Yehi letter Indus 2014 main likh deti to their dealers tou people would have said don't buy grande and wait for some time as it is a new 1.8 cvti and requires 91 Ron.
Actually before this letter nobody even cared. This is just my 2 cents

If Grande / Altis or whatever you called it had a turbo , we would talking same.. I am sharing my experience with stock turbo cars , as soon as you change fuel type ..you will feel the difference and extensive use will bring surprises. I will never listen to people what they have experience.. I follow what manufacturer tells as we all love our cars.. briefly I will leave it to turbo civic owners what they fill in their car tanks.

As far as letter .. people thought as USDM runs on regular PKDM can run on regular but we already discussed that matter extensively.

Sir, in very simple terms the manufacturer, Honda in this case has not changed its fuel requirements moving from 9th gen to 10th gen. It is the same for 1.8 2014 model civic and same for 2016 turbo.
And with this I conclude that whatever fuel ran the 9th gen would run the 10th gen.
And lastly for that matter Honda also recommends 91 Ron for 1.8 engine, why are we all saying we can run it on 87 but not the turbo. For Honda it's the same for both variants
      No offence intended...

Be polite on the road. Always give way to others, particularly ambulances and pedestrians.

Yehi letter Indus 2014 main likh deti to their dealers tou people would have said don't buy grande and wait for some time as it is a new 1.8 cvti and requires 91 Ron.
Actually before this letter nobody even cared. This is just my 2 cents
Bro from where do you think Corolla gets all the names...
Its all coz it is robust or i should say 'dheet' car which is tolerant to our conditions in every way and to our sub-standard petrol aswell for that matter.
Honda on the other hand requires special care... Its not that much tolerant and its maintenance is also costly, so a new engine and that too TURBO which is altogether is a new game must be handled as per OEM requirements. If someone wants to experiment than its his/her own choice. 😼
