And what about the myth they have, a car frequently and mostly running on Hi-octane when switches to normal fuel starts a little bit knocking. Is that valid for R18 kind of engines?

Sorry for this immature and noob question if it is one.

I am not sure but in case of NA, ECU adjusts it.. in fact if you use high octane , mean higher than required in NA.. you will lose on mileage as piston need to push more for combustion to happen and as there is no extra force available as in case of turbo.. I am not an expert but if you understand the concept of turbo .. it explains.

Also 1.8NA runs on 91.. fine as its tuned for that because it's a base line fuel everywhere.. if you use 95.. a loss in mileage and knocking can be expected.. in Pakistan if you use 91.. it will give optimal performance.

We use 87 in our 1.8NA in Pakistan and although it's lower grade. We might be expecting a lower mileage..

@Xulfiqar or can any other member comment on this myth? Frequently using Hi-Octane in R18 and then switching to lower Rons. Should it matter? Or is it just a stupid myth spread by illiterate mechanics?

So I test drove Vezel today... firstly I will review it thoroughly after it gets registered on other Vezel thread but initially I have to say is that Honda has just nailed it out of the park. Vezel is just mind blowing.

So coming over to the two new features that civic has and I tested in Vezel. These both features are fantastic...life gets so easier due to these small things. The brake hold specially makes stopping at signals a breeze ... no longer one is required to put foot on brake pedal or apply e brake or put car in Neutral or Parking gear. The car automatically applies brake it self.

Now moving towards to the new e braking switch. Yet again it's an amazing featire. The switch is so easier to apply no longer you need extra force which becomes a hassle later on and lastly due to this small switch Honda has made the center console so much accommodating ( this applies to civic as well ) the cup holders and over all pockets are so much bigger and easier to maintain.

Now all other cars look so outdated

So civic owners your in for serious treats

First you wear seatbelt its must. Engage brake hold with push of a button then whenever you stop completely it will automatically engage and you will not have to press brake any more. The car will keep brakes applied untill you press the accelerator pedal.

It's just a myth. In modern engines, everything is controlled by the ECU and knock-sensor. Whether you put Hi-octane or regular, knock-sensor is continuously working and providing feedback to ECU which is making all kinds of adjustments to air-fuel ratio, spark timmings etc. There is no reason why using Hi-octane for a year and than using regular once will cause unusual knocking.

Worst case scenario is that the regular was too bad (milawat wala) in which case you will notice a loss in power and the check engine light may come on.

To be honest these dealers and their salesman don't know anything.. Please read my today blog to understand why we need hi octane. Also how come same engine minimum need 91 in other countries and will work on 87 in Pakistan where even that 87 is mixed.

I will keep this screen shot for future reference

It depends if you were using high ron fuel than your engine requires than you might have carbon on piston top which will increase compression temperature best way is to switch slowly slowly and drive hard make your engine see red line

If hi octane is not recommended don't use. We use bcz our petrol comes with premixed with chemicals to save them money aka milawat which means we get less rons then expected but if we are getting good fuel then no need to go for hi octane unless recommended!
?Clear and simple... Fuel octane does not mean more or less engine power*

If you need 87 oct., putting 91, 92, or 115 oct. fuel in it will NOT gain you any power and in fact may cause you to loose power*

Higher octane fuel does not burn hotter*

In fact octane is the resistence to light/burn.*

So 93 octane fuel is harder to light and burns slower than 87 octane*

The only need for higher octane fuel is to controll the burn of the air/fuel.*

High compression engines needs the higher octane because the more you compressor air, the hotter it gets. If low octane fuel is used the heat in the chamber and the compression its self can light the air/fuel mixture it's self before the spark plug fires.*

If this happens, its lite at the wrong time and will cause detoneation (spark knock or ping) which will damage pistons, rings, valves, head gaskets, rod bearings*

Putting higher octane fuel than needed in a car does no harm to engine, but its just a waste of your money as theres no gains from doing so.*

Using lower octane than needed for your engine again will cause detonation and if left to happen for long enough it will do damage?

In simple words I say ?Hi Octane dal k gari ki adat kharab karni hai?😉 ?
      (If not recommended)

Beside this most of turbocharged engines consume a little bit of oil and you need to fill up to required level between the oil changes. So you must check oil levels after every 4 to 5000 miles. Initially after taking delivery its always better to check every 1000 miles so that it gives you an idea that how much it consumes . Mostly the levels remain stand still at the same level. Its normal to consume a little bit of oil but if its drinking a lot you need to get it checked.

Here people mostly use Synthetic oil for the turbos as far as I have always seen.
      Everything possible in our country.....
Bahi in turbo only difference is air and petrol goes in a small cylinder with slightly high pressuree nothing else ....why we are thinking that we r going to get space rocket engine type thing ....please use Google before commenting any thing stupid

Before people start expecting stuff like Xyz Tayyara written at the backs of Civic X, people that name written in black a graphic addition in the image not physically planted on the test mule.

It's a gimmick by Atlas Honda as the consumer protection laws of Pakistan enforces dealers and manufacturers to deliver within 60 days of booking, because they can't keep with the sales (ratio 4:1), they are creating frenzy to divert people. How can a multi national company launch a model when 60% of population doesn't have access let alone affordability for a type of fuel ? Cheap ploy but effective
