That's the logic I think has been applied. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
That's the part for floor hump, about the seat hump. It makes passenger side more bucketish and there might be something underneath that area too, like I guess the fuel tank, filter and its connectivity was underneath the middle seat on an 8th Gen.

This middle passenger comes only in play mostly in Pakistan
In Pakistan mostly there is a third or middle child, a cousin, an uncle, a grandpa, or grandma too in the family.

In most new cars there is a third headrest in the middle and reclining seats are also getting popular.

Atleast the more usage on rear 2 passenger seats would be comfortable compared to providing it for the barely possible third one.

According to income brackets large family rides are:

      Suzuki FX 7-8 people easily
      Suzuki Dabba 10-12
      Suzuki dala poora mohalla
      Suzuki APV
      Land Cruiser

I am a bit disappointed. For the fist time I want to buy a Civic and that too is not a totally new package and now that huge bump in the middle. Rear flat floor is gone too. Engine is old too. Meter bhee graphics wala naheen, steering bhee leather wala naheen, multimedia bhee woh Apple wala naheen, led headlights bhee naheen, sensing turbo ma standard naheen, 1.8 ma remote start naheen, Atlas aur kitna degrade karo *** Civic X ko? You have broken my heart.

I have the same issues as yours. Still I have not lost hope because the car is not officially out yet. I will go to near by Honda 3s and take a full day to review each and everything. Honda Atlas has indeed compromised. But I just hope they have not compromised on the driving pleasure like they did in 9th gen.

If you plan to change your steering, Yet again those accommodating great people at Atlas will have a "so called" valid excuse to void Warranty because you altered something and wiring for steering control was disturbed in the process so that's why electricals have failed.
They just need an excuse here. Because you sneezed in the car now your AC isn't working. "Warranty void due to sneezing"

That's not good also. Should be at least 55 to save trips to petrol pump.

Be polite on the road. Always give way to others, particularly ambulances and pedestrians.
