Yes, they are of course artificially induced as CVT is a transmission which seamlessly changes through a range of effective gear ratios which may in fact be infinite. Now, what Toyota did was to fix 7 steps or ratios and effectively call it gears which are not really actual gears. What happens is that when you are driving in D, the gears are continuously changing and are transparent (sort of) to the driver whereas when you put it in manual mode and use paddles or the lever's +/- change is only made between the selected 7 ratios and feels like you are driving a manual.
Having that said even in manual mode if you accelerate hard and cross a certain RPM level (near ~7000) the gear changes automatically to the next fixed ratio that is for example from M1 to M2 so as not to damage the CVT.

In Pakistan a December delivered car is different than a January delivered car. For example a Dec 2013 Civic would cost 20 in resale today and an identical Jan 2014 would be 21.5.

But I don't get the US concept of year changing in the mid. A May 2016 Civic and a September 2016 should both be 2016. What could be the possible reason for this concept? It's undertandable in terms of a fiscal/financial year but what relation does it have with a car model?

By the way I think we are getting about the same shade of blue which is called "sporty blue" as per unofficial single leaf brochure available. It is not Cosmic Blue

well.. In US most of cars are released in summer as its high buying time.. Like new Audi A4 model year 2017 is for sale since May 2016. They will sell 2017 till spring of 2017 and then 2018 model year will follow. New 2017 A3 face lift will be on display soon and for sale in September while 2016 is also available. Same goes for other automakers.

I bought my 2016 GLI in July 2015.. At that time a 2015 model year was also in stock. 10th Generation Civic was for sale at start of October 2015.. Almost all companies start advertising about 2017 by this time of year. Like a 2017 Accord is already on dealers lot..

Most probably. The difference between Oriel and Hardtop will not be worth letting go off the goodies. Had initially decided to switch my booking to hardtop when it will be available after the launch but now have decided to stick to Oriel.
But only if prices remain the same and Atlas decides not to be more evil and increase these prices. In that case it will be bye bye Oriel and Hello hardtop (coming soon: to be launched yet)

So you get the power when it is need in M mode? If yes then I don't care if Cvti is only emulating the gears. I don't mind if there are no physical gears or if their are belts and pulleys only.

Ji Masroor bhai, it sort of does give an advantage in terms of power as you are more in control of the CVT, but moving from a completely manual car it feels a bit sluggish IMO.
I had never kept an auto before this, hence cannot compare with previous prosmatecs, but the torque and power in grande's CVT is adequate considering our roads if you are considering of buying one.
The manual mode though is more useful in hilly areas where you need more braking power coming downhill, this unfortunately would only be available in 1.5T in the upcoming civic with paddle shifters and I cannot say much about braking whilst in S or L mode until I have some hands on experience.

Not only I'm US but I have seen the same in Europe and Middle East. From Sep onwards, they always get the new year model which means great bargains on vehicles in stock.

Unfortunately, They look inspired from these ugliest rims ever I have seen. Never liked these ever. They devalue and in my eyes depreciate the car. That's why these new Honda rim styling isn't much appealing to my eyes.
      Hopefully it may sink in.

But only if prices remain the same and Atlas decides not to be more evil and increase these prices. In that case it will be bye bye Oriel and Hello hardtop (coming soon: to be launched yet)

I remember you booked 3 cars. One of them is going to be an Oriel for your personal use, what about the other two? Are they turbo?

Unfortunately, They look inspired from these ugliest rims ever I have seen. Never liked these ever. They devalue and in my eyes depreciate the car. That's why these new Honda rim styling isn't much appealing to my eyes.
      Hopefully it may sink in.

Lol you're still into letting them sink in and hopefully make them grow on you?

Why not chuck them away as I shall . I guess I'll keep pushing it till you are disgusted by the ones Atlas is giving, lol.

Yaar the issue is, I dont prefer and like non original changes on the car
That's why I am trying to resist changing them.
Any ways even if I hate them I will not change them right away. Reason: Initially no tyre shop will buy them for more than Rs.20,000 saying "Sir jee yeh rim kisi aur gaari ko nahi lagnay in ki demand nahi karain ge log"
Then when hardtop is launched and many of those owners will prefer to get "janyan allow rim" for their cars, the rate of these rims would be atleast Rs.50,000 being demanded by the same shopkeepers since they will then say to those buyers "bhai jaan yeh 16 ka janyan honda company ka rim hai, company ka rate 75 hazaar hai hum to 50 ka de rahay hain, baree demand mai hai yeh rim". Same will apply to many 9th & 8th Gen owners looking for 16 alloys of 10th Gen.
That's when I will sell them. I will portray as a Hardtop owner and ask for its rate first, later he can deduct a couple thousand for his so called bachat and instead of paying extra for another set I'd rather tell them to give me money instead. I'd rather save money than spilling it like this to their unreasonable strategy of ripping the pocket.
