Any thoughts on how this S mode would change the transmission response?

Altis doesn't actually give better *acceleration* in the manual mode. It is just there to provide you greater transmission control. And lets you maintain a certain gear ratio as long as you don't red line it, in response to which it will automatically shift to the next ratio. Or vice versa if you slow down too much while in a higher ratio.

This S mode and this shifter is the identical copy of the Honda City 2004-2008 CVT transmissions. It just keeps the engine revving higher so it responds more quickly to the gas push. Better engine braking will also be there because again, higher engine revvs.

As speculated, 1.5T civics will just have a manual mode like the city steermatic used to have. Upon activation, it used to put the car in an electronically simulated 7 Speed mode, controlled by the shifters on the steering wheel.

If this is true then, S mode should be different as it when coupled with CVT would use a infinite gear ratios but slightly hold a particular ratio longer or something for better response.

Sent from my SM-N910C using PW Forums mobile app
Yes precisely that is what would happen. The infinite ratio is restricted and divided. The longer ratio is held thus stopping the rpms to shift, which uphill or during acceleration results in better power, and downhill it works as stopping the car from flowing freely hence helping the driver to avoid using unnecessary brake pedal.
For instance if ure driving normally, shifting to S suddenly increases the RPM while accelerating and response gets better (But massively adopting this practice in normal everyday driving is not recommended) Same is applicable downhill and S is used for gradual/moderate downward slopes. L is for extremely steep ones.

Proof of ignition switch spotted... The presence of a note at the bottom left and text on the top right side means Civic X does have an ignition switch somewhere in any country and not all have Push Start.
Therefore it is now absolutely safe to assume that the hardtop version PKDM will not have Push start but an ignition with Jack knife key most probably.

      Yes ... I have seen somewhere a civic X with a key ... can't recall.
I don't know where they will price the hard top.

The D being standard and S is like the M of Grande or Paddle Shift mode and further control to be done by steering pedals

The precise price difference of Hardtop Prosmatec and Oriel Prosmatec for outgoing 9th Gen was 230,000 therefore according to same rule, Ex factory price of Oriel being 2,529,000 means the price of Hardtop will be 2,299,000 Ex factory

Yes 2.3 million is the ideal price.
It will be somewhere between 2.25 - 2.3 million.
      Now would you consider oriel?

Don't know but Atlas really needs to rethink their pricing strategy before launch, why are they giving such an empty playing area to Indus.

Not a pure Sunroof fan but I already am considering Oriel. Because out of that 230 in any case I will be spending 45-50k on rims and around 10-12 on oem fog lights from Honda. So the remaining 170 difference is very reasonable and cheap to pay for purchase of goodies such as Sunroof, Retractable mirrors, Auto speed locking doors, VSA, Push Start and Cruise Control. So it sounds like a bargain to get an Oriel in comparison of a hardtop provided I usually don't replace a zero meter purchased car that early. Minimum 3-4 Years.
I would pay the price just for the Auto door locks with 2 toddlers around.

Its called "collusion" of the Japanese auto mafia and the new auto policy was supposed to prevent this but politicians and bureaucrats with vested interests (*cough* bribes * cough*) made sure to make the auto policy toothless with regards to many issues concerning consumers and their oft forgotten rights in this country. You can study initial ADP drafts and compare them to final document to see what I am referring to.

Beautifully summed up. The implementation of the auto policy can be seen in the Pre booking drama of Atlas.
We will continue to get substandard cars at expensive rates.
I so wish a dictator comes and makes car imports duty free like musharraf did.

Was wondering if anybody on the forum knows someone in Parco refinery as I wanted some clarification.

According to Parco, they produce 90 RON fuel marketed and supplied as hi super at total pumps. I have heard that Parco produces only 90 RON and not 87 as per their refinery configuration. Now, if this is true I want to know if all the total pumps countrywide supply 90 RON fuel or only pumps in the region close to their refinery facility and perhaps buy fuel from Attock Refinery Ltd for supply in north region which of course would be 87 RON due to ARL's limitation. This I'm saying as the cost of transportation and supply in north region would be quite a lot for Parco itself.

Parco website says they produce 90.. The other thing I read that Parco has limited production and even after blending imported pr8duct with local their output will be limited.. don't expect RON 92on each and every pump of total

Yes even now not all pumps are consistent. And it's somewhere near 85 ron with heavy impurities.
