i came to Dubai today and rented a basic variant of Honda Accord 2016. It doesn't have climate control, push start, camera, and sunroof but does have e-brake and brake hold. Not sure what they will give on hardtop in PK considering even the accord base model is stripped off from most of the features in international market.

Sir a fully loaded 2016 USDM Accord Touring which starts at little over 34K does not have Auto Brake Hold and Electronic Parking Brake.. it has same conventional hand brake. The 2017 Accord which is already on dealers lot don't have it either..

Dual zone climate control and backup camera with dynamic guidelines are standard on USDM even on basic Accord.. Honda USA exports LHD Accord and I think / not sure if Middle east gets it from US.. Interestingly Honda USA export more Accords than any other plant.

I am not sure about your rental Accord that it does not have climate control but has Electronic Parking Brake and brake hold.. will you please share pictures of interior because I am little confused . May be Middle East specific model has these features as standard.

Brake Hold and Electronic Parking Brake will come in next generation Accord in 2 year time..as far as USDM. Fun fact: Next Accord will share platform with Civic X .

I'm getting White. Away from Lunar Silver because turns out that it really is a Lunatic Color when it comes to repair and matching. The most difficult and worst color to match is Silver. So considering you have to drive on Pakistani roads between all sorts of Lunatic traffic, if a touch up is ever needed silver will give different shades. And usually to match Silver the workshops use overspray. Get one piece painted and remaining 3 will be done free.

Well any Mattalic dark shades will have same issue as Silver.. silver will still hide imperfections / exterior paint surface conditions like swirls ... white on other hand is easy to maintain.. some cars looks attractive in white while some just completely hides the exterior characteristics.. silver is the only color other than white which can easily be maintained..

Anyways my Lunatic Silver.. [Reflex Silver ]

Darker metallic shades are relatively easier to match because the metallic element can be seen more prominently in them and can be adjusted whereas due to same color base Silver is a cheater and once applied only to a single piece it gives a shade. I did some googling and talked to some local painters as well in the meanwhile as well: top worst color for matching, Silver.

Well it depends on type of paint , the painter equipment, the prep as well.. back in 2009 I had a serious accident and I had silver.. will share pics for you to judge .. Color is something very personal specific.. and why we think of repaint ?..

I shared a post few pages above how the new Civic front in designed to take crash forces.. the outcome in a simple rear ending will be very bad with major body panels damage.. so with fear of that should we not buy Civic?..

In a nutshell.. exterior color is a personal choice and one should go as per his her own will as paint will remain with the car for the life time and once selected will remain forever

Fazal bhai, though over the past more than about a decade God has been kind enough on me that I have never needed a single piece resprayed on my personal use car, not even scratched bumpers. Sold my last 4 factory condition cars as "bumper to bumper original" after using them for some years. That's dependent more God's will and personal luck no matter how careful you drive in Lahore. But on the other hand here parked cars get hit on bumpers or a stupid biker just cuts you and leaves behind a repair demanding dent in the fender. If any such thing arises, white & black only require that one piece to be repainted with easy color matching.
Whereas Silver is dependent on too many factors. And it's a bit hard to tolerate such things as those stupid shades and color variations on the car.
I have heard even 3S workshops overspraying an entire side just for the sake of 2 pieces. That again is not an ideal situation.
Again, what i stated is my personal reason for not opting Silver any more.

I opted silver because I got it for my wife and she only know how to drive. NYC parallel parking is worse.. you will see people bumping into your car but you will not say anything as its NY.

I already had white in past so went for silver. While I personally have grey.. but you are absolutely right in your point of view.. Again cars here in US are not investment so people don't bother either

And usually to match Silver the workshops use overspray. Get one piece painted and remaining 3 will be done free.

Guys info update: The recent increase in registration charges is now effective. Previously it was 2% of vehicle cost and now it's 3%
So I am giving a rough calculation for 1.8 Oriel charges for tax filer.
Reg: 76000 + Reg Book: 500 + Plates: 1200 + Misc taxes etc: 5,000 + One year advance token: 12000 all of which means you are looking at a total of approximately 95000-100000 for Punjab.
Please before anyone points me out stuff, example: that number plate is not for 1200 but 1000 or 1500 I have only given a rough idea of costs and have not counted points and paisas. Just an average rough figure of expense.
