seriously let's get over it brother. I respect your views and agree with it and i did accept the prices may be justified.

remember way back i was the one justifying their higher prices compared to corolla on this very same thread?

The price thing went wrong, I meant that they could have paid attention to navigation, leather seats and little things as it is a 3mil car.

      can we move on?

      Hi5!!
I apologize if i have hurt your or anyone's sentiments.

For instance without duty agar 1.8 engine 100,000 ka hai toh 1.5 200,00 ka ho ga (just an example and it doesn't mean these are exact prices please)

Billions of rupees went into cost of research and development and we can't expect them to forgive that cost which came while developing the technology.

Led lights are expensive as a spare item. Is there any duty on importing them or bringing them along from abroad?

Since the deliveries of civic X are just about to start, even some have got their deliveries, so I have some scenarios/possibilities in my mind about the delivery issues:

1st Possibility: On the delivery time, I inspect the car properly and there are no major quality issues, then I should accept the car.

2nd Possibility: On the delivery time, I inspect the car properly and there are some quality issues (eg. poor welding, distorted panels etc.) and refused to accept that car and demand for new car. Can I refuse to accept the car? And if I refused the car and they accepted my refusal, then there is possibility of three sub-cases:

sub-case 1: I refused the car, and after some days, they offered me a new car which has no quality issues, so I accept the car.

sub-case 2: I refused the car, and after some days, they offered me a new car, but it has same quality issues, then what will happen? Because I cannot accept that car.

sub-case 3: I refused the car, and after some days, they offered me the same car which I had refused, but this time they tried to rectify the quality issues eg. now re-welding had to be done and after re-welding, some pieces were repainted. Again I cannot accept that car? Then what will happen?

3rd Possibility: If I stop my remaining payment, and wait for some time (how many days??/ how many months??) so that better quality cars may be produced in later batches/lots, is this possible? And for how many days/months, can I stop my remaining payment?

Yeah they are expensive and I'm sure there must be customs duty. How much? I have no idea.

OK Guys, enough is enough. I explained a gazillion times. This is public forum and anyone can share anything. I am fed up with some useless argument that why everyone just "Exclusively " Target the Honda/ Atlas and not IMC for its Corolla. Well Like this thread I have been running the 11th Generation Corolla thread and there was exact same argument about quality and thousands of posts as I have read almost each and every post of 18K replies.

So your argument is completely baseless and unauthentic. I will save your time because Corolla thread almost started along around same as Civic thread with double posts and double viewership. To make things better we have to start from somewhere, I know you guys have emotional attachments to different brands but truth need to be spoken and its better we all voice against this crap no matter Suzuki, Honda, Toyota. We are asking for safety and airbags.. if they cant fix minor issues, provide basic feature, an air bag module cost a lot. Please understand Atlas, Indus are not giving you cars for free, they are taking big chunk of your saving and living cost. It should be of quality.

Just a small little snapshot of thousands of posts.. So anyone saying we targeted here in Civic thread and not in Corolla thread. please go and read each and every page and then come back here make your opinion.

I know we should be getting a lot more in the price range, but we are not. Maybe in a face lift later on. But for now, I'm excited about the car and can't wait to try out the little engine that casts a big shadow.

Here's to all those folks who are excited to get into their brand new civics, despite the criticism. Thumbs up, folks. And don't forget to post in the owners thread when you start receiving your rides. Aap ko aap ki gari mubarak ho. Inshallah we'll come to love the shape and its engine, and learn to forgive its drawbacks.

Having said that, I wish the rear screen was optional. But I'm glad I can stow it away, that way I can forget that ugly thing is even there.

      One love, y'all!
What do you plan to do about the front screen. Thats also of a very low quality compared to the oriel one. I was going for a turbo too, switching to oriel now because of the front screen.

Here are some answers based on what constitutes a defect that can forms grounds for refusal:
      1. Product defects that hampers the car's performance. E.g. Faults with engine, drive train, etc.
      2. Product defects that may cause injury to the driver/ passengers. E.g. Safety features e.g. airbags, engine mounts etc etc
      3. Certain cosmetic defects like dinks, dents, chipped paint on the external visible body surface.
      4. Issues with internal trim that may hamper functioning. E.g. rubber seals, dashboard latch, cabin lighting, seat adjustment etc

What usually does not constitute grounds for refusal
      1. Cosmetic defects on the body not visible externally.
      2. Cosmetic defects in the car that does not hamper functionality

I dont think one can refuse delivery if the welds look ugly as they a) dont pose a danger to the user(s) b) Not visible externally c) hamper no functionality

In addition, the owner's manual might also highlight certain aspects that are considered 'normal' when the user might think otherwise. I can think of two that come to mind based on vehicles I have owned

      1. The suzuki manual (Swift) states that the breaks are noisy and basically the user should learn to live with it, it is not a defect
      2. The Corolla (Grande) manual states that the MID might develop some bright/ dead spots (dead/ stuck Pixels) and this is normal and not grounds for a change/ refusal to accept

Off Topic: Having owned at-least one of every type of locally assembled car at one point in time or another I can safely say that all manufacturers have had and still have issues with quality. I have lived extensively in the Gulf and South-East Asia and can safely say that vehicles there have issues as well.

Of all the vehicles I have owned the best, in terms of quality, is the Honda City. It had minimal issues, the most glaring were deep scratches on the Plexiglas covering the instrument cluster which were easily dealt with using a bog standard scratch remover.

The '08 Corolla 2.0D Saloon had the top of the dash separate from the audio system as the space was not really meant for the 2 DIN unit they were using. They really did not have any acceptable solution to the problem

The '12 Swift, apart from the terrible break screech had this annoying rattle from the dash because of the type of plastic they use. Again nothing could be done about it as it was inherent to the use of materials. I think Tiff Needle(?) pointed this out in his 5th gear review of the swift as well

I have a similar one, got it from Quetta a few years back, it is a three ply cover with outer layer of a 50% polyester and 50% cotton cloth, underneath is a vinyl layer for water proofing and the last layer that actually comes in contact with the body is of a thick wool type material, very soft to touch and excellent for the poor quality paints on PKDMs. Cost me around 2500/- back in 2014 from double road Quetta.

Front screens of oriel and turbo are different variants probably from different companies. You should test them before buying, miles apart in term of quality.

He's probably talking about the DVD/Navigation screen. I hope you didn't mix it up with front windscreen?
