This 'tire changing' phenomenon is only prevalent in the enthusiast and/or PW community. Majority of buyers don't bother with changing tires and use it as is, at least, the first set which came with the car.

Reflecting tire change prices in OTR price would be a misleading figure. You should ideally, deal with those figures separately.

I plan on changing out the entire system to an aftermarket audio solution. If I had the option to buy the 1.5t without navigation, I would have done so. But afaik its not optional. How the aftermarket system works (or doesn't) with the rear screen is not much of an issue, as I plan on keeping that freak of nature stowed away. A bit surprised that the navi and rear screen are not optional. It seems to me that Atlas is pushing an inferior product down our throats, but I'm resigned to the fact that I'll face issues like that with most, if not all, PKDM cars. To be honest, I'm not a fan of the system that comes pre-installed in the grande either, I'd go for an after market system 10 times out of 10.

Again, too bad that inferior quality products are not optional, but I'll get over it. I'm sure there's more to the new civic than visible welds, inferior infotainment systems and other things people are complaining about. I'm also sure that the joy this new ride will give me will make me forget the little issues so far uncovered. As long as my ride isn't a lemon from the get-go, I'll probably learn to love this civic as I have all previous ones, even the 9th gen that almost every one hated.
Time is an asset, how you gonna spend it? The way you handle yours will be well documented. [In vino veritas]

It does mention what kind of multi link suspension Honda has but does not mention what the Civic 2016 comes with. Most likely its 5 link.

i just went through the article which bashes civic for its quality. Seriously? Isn't that being biased at the first place. It should have questioned the quality of local manufacturers then they could have bashed civic and whatever.

I have had talks with few sources and have come to a conclusion that @arkhitekt bhai was right that these models were prepared on a very tight schedule which resulted in cosmetic issues including the orange peel (According to them these issues are only with the display cars). The next batch will definitely be better and would follow the standards (I'm optimistic on this).

Comparing USDM civic to PKDM is wrong at the first place because our model, specifications and quality standards have nothing to do with USDM civic we have an ASEAN model and is supposed to be standards set by Honda Thailand. Have anyone heard of the consumer rights and auto policy in NA? One can even return the tried on undergarments there for a full refund! We don't even have a consumer right policy. If its there it has no value and is never enforced by our govt.

Specifications and Options vary with the options offered by competitors. So comparing our market they did give us extra technical stuff (Electronic Parking Brake with the addition of Auto Brake hold, Hill Start Assist and Emergency stop signal).

Moreover, as per the auto policy, parts must be sourced from local market if available and aren't produced by Honda Atlas which includes the crappy navigation.

Friends and members quoting USDM civic price should also have a look at the prices of Civic in Thailand

I am of the opinion that prices are justified and am optimistic that the next batch which will have overcome the cosmetic issues. My earlier post regarding the price wasn't at all targeting the price but was only a sarcasm for not giving an option to have the turbo without navigation and leather seats. I would have opted for the navigation offered in Oriel if given a chance.

      Peace

Happy Civic-X-ing (as fazal bhai would say)

I cant find aftermarket ones online. I could only find used pieces on ebay worth ~400 per piece.

You will have to wait for a long time :p

Minor variations such as 225/55-16 instead wont make much difference. Thora buhut chalta hai. But if you ask me 215/55-16 is looking just fine on the car.

I was getting the quotes for 17in rims from the local dealer and when discussed it with a cousin about the duties on it he asked me to forget it and assured 16in rims do look better in real and don't go out of proportion and they give a comfortable ride experience.

Do you plan to replace the tires or will test these and decide?

Do you plan to replace the tires or will test these and decide?
I dont think it will make difference to VSA as most of them got aftermarket rims on Vezel, CL7/CL9 with no problem, i will be changing to 215/50 R17 or 225/50 R17
My lugnuts require more torque than your Vtec can put out...

I too loved my 9th gen civic when many hated it
The following may cause a lot of shock and trauma to readers, but I've got a pretty decent setup in my Gli that I may migrate to the new ride. It's a single din (GASP! SINGLE DIN IN PLACE OF A FACTORY TOUCHSCREEN NAVI UNIT? Yes, I've tried multiple double din touch screen units from Pioneer and Kenwood, and my honest opinion w.r.t sound quality is that they can't beat relatively old school high end (or even mid end) single din pioneer units when it comes to sound clarity and quality....just my opinion, no lynching please!)

Apart from that shocking revelation, the amps, components and woofer will also go into the new ride, InshAllah. If I could take my stinger roadkill damping sheets along, I would .

All in all, I've basically never used the navigation in the 8th gen civic that I've owned (haven't owned the 9th gen, but still really like it). So why complain about shoddy quality of a unit that I plan on taking out and replacing with an old school single din pioneer HU anyway? I believe the steering controls can be made to work with after market HU's, and I'll be investigating threads where fellow pakwheelers have done so, but all in all, I don't really care about the factory units. Wish I could save on them had they been optional, but they're not.

As for navigation to tricky areas unknown to me, my nexus 5's car holder will also be taken out of my Gli and installed somewhere in the new civic, and viola, hands free google navigation!

Yes, I know I'm a total fool for foregoing the factory navi for a single din pioneer. But I'm a fool that I really like, so I'll stick to my old school.
Time is an asset, how you gonna spend it? The way you handle yours will be well documented. [In vino veritas]

If any tyre shop adjusts these BG in replacement and exchange around 15k max 20k I may change tyres to Yokohama but keeping the same size. If not I intend to keep BG Luxo and will try them for an year at least.
