      Alright, bad news. I have learned from Aussie sites that they are getting the same 1.8 ltr for the lower trims. If that's the case, then be prepared to pay for the same old 1.8 with prosmatec transmission.

      I don't think I'd want to pay for just the new body with the paindoo looking beige interior. I already have the 8th gen.

      I just wish they bring 1.0 ltr turbo for entry level and 1.5 ltr turbo for the oriel. Fingers crossed. Honda unveils turbocharged 1.0L, 1.5L petrol engines

      well as long as the lower trims have it and the upper trim has a 1.5L, i am fine...

      I have a very strong feeling that it would be same engine. 1.5 might be offered after 2-3 years

      This image is posted already up in thread; a spy shot from Thailand. There are two exhausts which basically tells a little bit of story. This is a 1.5L turbo, as on US trim a dual exhaust is on the turbo model.

      Guys I know we all want the 1.5L turbo engine in the new Civic, but that will NOT happen for several practical reasons.

      1) Turbo engines require higher octane to run efficiently and without problems, meaning they would need HOBC in Pakistan. HOBC is ridiculously expensive in Pakistan.

      2) Even if Honda modifies the engine to accept normal octane fuel, Pakistani regular petrol comes in at an octane rating of 87. That is still unusually low for high compression turbocharged engines, which will cause damage to the engine (please remember the catalytic converter debacle -- our fuel contains so much sulfur the catalytic converters need to be replaced way before their schedule).

      3) The new 1.5L turbocharged equipment is a highly sensitive engine and as such any messing around by our regular mechanics has the potential to do unimaginable damage to the engine leading to engine problem complaints and negative image creation for Honda.

      So no, we will most likely not get the turbocharged engine. We might have gotten the 2.0L NA engine but the tax structure on the automotive industry in Pakistan, makes it even more unlikely. So in summation, the only engine we're likely to get in the Civic X, is the current R18 with some slight modifications.

      And one main point u have missed and that's manual 1.5L delayed till couple of years as per civicx link mentioned in my previous reply on same. So its highly impossible that manual 1.5L launch in Pak only and not anywhere worldwide ....

      in that scenario I will prefer to go for Grande or imported HRV. Because if Honda is planning to cater only one segment who is conscious about petrol savings or prefer road side mechanics than let the civic be 8th gen. there must be options for those who really want to drive a real machine. In my opinion atlas should launch both 1.8 and TC to deal with all type of prospects.

      According to my source new civic is coming in MAY 2016 with 1.5 ltr TC ...
      Dont know if its true or not ...
      I hope its true ...

      so basically the civic x owners will drink all the high octane in petrol pumps in pakistan, after the release....
