PSO imports refined fuels - the prices are used to determine the monthly fuel station prices. From PSO's annual report FY15:

"During FY 2015 local refineries produced 9.8 million MTs, while the deficit requirement of 12.5 million tons was imported. The major import was in FO (6.2 million MTs), HSD (3.2 million MTs) and MOGAS (3.1 million MTs). "

I agree and fully agree what you say

But it is not a shame that Atlas even after 20 years of assembly couldn't have proper localization ?. I mean few things like liner in trunk and steering wheel button.. how much did they saved on it?. And the button they even provide are worst quality.. am I not saying owner say.. urethane and plastic components are of poor quality because Atlas have less stress on QA/QC over vendors.

And as I said, the fuel issue.. how and on basis of what argument Atlas say that in next month or so there will be required fuel on each and every pump.. when I buy car it's for me to transport and commute not that I first think about fuel if it will be available. Who is responsible if someone buys car in my home town where there is no availability of 91.. is he responsible or dealers who pre booked cars without evening clarifying required fuel grade.

Anyways let's see how it goes

Another reason could be cost cutting for margin reasons- localization of parts for honda civic may be low which would impact costs significantly - so they decide to cut on some specs. There could be vendor QC issues too.

Bro I don't work for Honda. I'm an auto enthusiast and keep tabs on local industry - like you do. But I disagree about road conditions in Pakistani metropolitan areas - we don't have potholes - we have cliffs! You need to travel on Karachi's national highway (i.e. the road joining Shara-e-Faisal from the airport) to know what i'm talking about.

@fazalwahab11375 can correct me if i'm wrong, but with bigger rims, you need lower profile tyres. This can decrease road comfort and increase noise from tyres and is bad for the suspension if the roads are bad.

Pakistan import crude oil. There are 4 refineries working in Pakistan. 2 in Karachi, 1 in attack region and the new Saudi pak or pak Arab something oil refinery near multan.

USDM as well as all Civic Turbo model all across the world market are using 17.. it's only Pakistan where it's 16 on Turbo..

17 is a normal wheel size and almost now a standard size on most of brands overseas.. experts can share about suspension.. my car has 18 and it's a small hatchback.. and I don't feel much diffrence.

Things like body parts and the things you mentioned are locally manufactured by honda atlas and their vendors - the vendors are sent designs and then judged on ability and costs. It's only performance parts and the more sophisticated body parts that are imported in ckd form (due to economies of scale, lack of technical ability and/or QC issues). There can never be complete localization till the Pakistani market becomes significant enough - currently it's not even close.

I don't recall Atlas honda saying that the required fuel will be available. It was probably a handful of dealers - and they're full of $hit, especially in Honda's case as they haven't been given proper training by Honda Atlas, as evident from the fiasco of a launch.

Another brilliant build quality issue I saw today in my 'brand new pkdm 'north American car of the year'' today! The front passenger seat's arm rest which also hosts the power window button was lifted out of its socket - now I have been driving the car for 4 days and no one has sat on that passenger seat! I was amazed and extremely angry to see this! I had to remove the panel myself and then punch it in! Seriously I have only seen my friends do these kind of things in mehran a couple of times!

And apparently my car has cleared the so called Japanese QC! As I have said previously as well this is my last PKDM! I now fear that the car will just disintegrate it is so frail! Oh and today I examined it in a lot of detail - exact same quality issues I.e. Welds, gaps next to the push start button, uneven gaps in the centre console, uneven gapping between bumper and fenders... You name it - this car has it!

I'll share them tomorrow morning! I have fixed the door panel issue myself - it's like fixing the plastic fitting of a toy, easy to get out and easy to get in - but yes remaining issues I can photograph and share tomorrow! As beautiful as the car is to look at from the outside - it now gives me no excitement to actually sit in and drive the car, this despite the car having an excellent driving position... I miss my 9th gen!
