Exactly why aftermarket stuff should be avoided.

Bro and what abt suzuki with a badged vvt?

Actually vvti is only variable valve timing while vtec along with variabe valve timing also has valve lift. So vvti is only part of vtec. Toyota's equivalent of vtec/I-vtec is vvtli (discontinued) and valvematic.
And someone else asked about suzuki's vvt that is same as vvti but not vtec.

Will anyone/ ex 9th generation owners share how it feel as far as steering ratio 9th vs 10th.

      Technically

"The steering ratio is variable over a 17-percent range with a final full off-center rotation ratio of 10.93:1. This provides a quick 2.2 turns lock-to-lock compared to 3.1 turns lock-to-lock for the previous Civic, significantly reducing the steering effort when parking or maneuvering. Also contributing to the enhanced steering performance and feel of the 2016 Civic Sedan, the steering mount stiffness is higher, and the 30mm steering column diameter (up from 22mm on the previous generation Civic) also provides greater stiffness."

The ratio has made a lot of difference between response. Manoeuvrability has improved. In 9th Gen it was delayed compared to 10th. Also the steering feels more focussed and poised this time, connected to the road while 9th felt more in the air and floaty.

It is not as much about aftermarket stuff than about incompetent desi electrician ustaads bypassing protection devices like fuses or deliberately using very high fuse current rating. So long as equipment/device is of reasonably good quality and design, the person who installs it is competent and the owner who pays for it doesn't skimps trying to save couple rupees going with desi ustaad, this wouldn't happen.

Isn't that the owner's prerogative to get whatever aftermarket equipment he/she wants to install in his/her car? Owner's money, owner's choice.

As I said earlier, it isn't about aftermarket stuff itself per se, more about how it is fitted/installed inside the car and juggars used for it.

People before many of owners get excited and get rims. Please follow the technical standards and recommendations.

I posted all recommended tyre sizes and this data for Civic X earlier. This is a sample case scenario and notice that rims width and tyre have a range which is extremely important. Dont get a wider rim and narrower tyre which doesn't fall in recommended range or vice versa

In UK, an incorrect tyre as per rim width range fails for an insurance claim. Here is a screenshot from the MOT Guide.

A wider rim and narrower tyre or vice versa makes the fitting bead unstable. A cause of tyre failure as well

Following or not following standards is totally your right. Just giving info as per my knowledge

I have both Golf GTI and the Jetta GLI. no change.

Yellow plate for NY was active till early 50's then they changed to blue.. then again they changed to yellow back in 2009/10. So all cars registered after that got new yellow plates. As you can keep your plates , I had blue personal plate from 2008 which I transfer everytime I change my car .. that's why there is blue on my car. My GTI is with yellow, plate.

The Jetta GLI has same engine, transmission and suspension as golf GTI.

Surprisingly people are buying it due to current price of Oriel due to own amount, while hardtop available almost ready delivery. And yes alloys are available as some people changed Oriels and Turbos to bigger sizes.

Finally decided to book myself a 1.8 oriel right after eid. The plan was to wait a little so that the quality issues may subside and get a 2017 model. Can someone from lahore suggest the best Honda dealership in terms of committment and customer service, one who won't sell my car on own to someone else. Called gateway and city sales today, both quoted February delivery. Called honda canal bank who are apparently terminated by Honda Atlas but are still taking orders and they quoted January.

Someone here mentioned the sialkot dealership Honda falcon delivering in 2 months but called them too and they quoted January as well. Any suggestions? And how much initial deposit i need to pay them? Honda Canal asked for 12.5 lacs, however, someone mentioned 1 million here.

I did it from sialkot and 2 months was minimum. they gave me date of Dec 15 as mostly people won't take their cars in Dec and if few people skipped, I might get mine. Plus production was normal then, but yesterday someone said that the production of new cars is on halt because of kits shortages. Now I don't know when I will get mine. I haven't contacted them yet as I am not interested to take it in Dec but my dad is pushing it.
Try ghazi road Honda. They are really good and cooperative people. I liked them a lot, they treated me well when I visited them.

Dial extension 316 for sales department. You will have to keep trying if they don't attend in the first place.
