Default Honda civic 06 fuel consumption problem

    Aoa dear members!
I've recently bought a 06 civic vti oreal prosmatec which has done 85k kilometers and had CNG installed with an advancer.
I've removed the CNG cylinder (the kit still in place), and replaced spark plugs with new ones, and changed the air filter, and checked the air intake for blockages, but my car is still giving me an avg of 8 to 9 kmpl without AC.
From what I have heard its consuming a lot of petrol.
Kindly suggest me what to do to improve my car's fuel avg. I am being careful with my driving.
I was thinking to get it tuned. Any good suggestions?

Is the thermostat and auto fan working? At what RPM does the transmission upshift?

@ZainMahdi yes sir thermostat and auto fan working. And great shifting seems good too, depends on how I control the accelerator pedal but in routine driving between 2 to 3.5

I would recommend you to go Honda Classic 3s I-10/3 for complete tuneup and full checkup according to odometer readings. They are best in tuning. In Islamabad, no one is better in tuning (tappet adjustment, throttle body cleaning and other stuff) and other works. Meet with workshop manager and tell him all story. He will help you

So don't go to any roadside mechanic, they will ruin your car. Now choice is yous.

Bro civic prosmatic gives 8-9kmp/l in local it would not improve and manual civic gives 9-11kmp/l. This is myth that prosmatic 1.6 gives 13 or 14, on motorway with a constant speed of 100-110 my 2005 civic manual gave 13 with ac so in long it may give you 12-13, prosmatic are fuel thirsty.

Yes you are right, some dealership have very rude behavior with their customers. But we have to manage with these people for our work-you know better then me.

I also go to Honda classic 3s but their behavior is good with me. First meet with Workshop manager Mr. Khurram first and tell him about all problem. He is nice person and surely will help you.

my 2001 vti oriel prosmatec (that has the same engine but doesn't have the emissions control sensor at the exhaust as that of 2006 model) used to give 10.2-10.5 kmpl in city with AC. and with a constant speed of 40 km/hr or 100km/hr it would give 15kmpl with AC.

Believe me bro it is giving me 16-17km/l in long on GT Road with average speed of 110. I maintained the car by own way and check each and every thing according to oem spec.

@galant1 bro I have no problems on believing your civic is giving that mileage because I've asked my mechanics and other owners of the same model,if properly tuned it does give a very nice mileage.

Currently I am using Honda Genuine engine oil 5W-30 fully synthetic in my car. But on next oil change I will consider ZIC XQ 5W-40 fully synthetic or Havoline 5W-40 fully synthetic.

These two oils are much better then Honda Genuine engine oil 5W-30 fully synthetic and giving superb fuel mileage and long change interval as well.

I will say you that use zic xq 5W-40 fully synthetic. or Havoline 5W-40 fully synthetic in your car with oem oil filter should buy from 3s.

in local 9-10 is normal average and don't worry about that.

But on highway it must be around 13-14. Go to a good workshop and master reset by computer.it will be fine Insha Allah.
