Default Honda civic 06 fuel consumption problem

    Aoa dear members!
I've recently bought a 06 civic vti oreal prosmatec which has done 85k kilometers and had CNG installed with an advancer.
I've removed the CNG cylinder (the kit still in place), and replaced spark plugs with new ones, and changed the air filter, and checked the air intake for blockages, but my car is still giving me an avg of 8 to 9 kmpl without AC.
From what I have heard its consuming a lot of petrol.
Kindly suggest me what to do to improve my car's fuel avg. I am being careful with my driving.
I was thinking to get it tuned. Any good suggestions?

brother i disagree with you.i own 2005 vti oriel prosmatic. its giving me 13kmpl in city and on highway 15. but yes its without ac. and with ac, in city its giving me 11.

Some data on how it shifts (my experience with my car). You may find it useful.

First to second: minimum 10 km/h.
Second to third: minimum 32 km/h. It may also go into torque converter lock up; depends on throttle opening and the car's mood. Once in lock up, you can go down as low as 1100 rpm before it unlocks.
Third to fourth: minimum 52 km/h. It won't fully lock up until 70 km/h+; once in lockup, you can go down as low as 56 km/h before it unlocks.

At each minimum shift speed, you can lift the pedal momentarily, and re apply pressure. It will upshift. If you don't lift up, it will delay its upshift no matter how light your foot is.

Torque converter lock up is where most of your fuel savings lie. The factors that affect how easily you can go into lockup: engine condition, transmission condition, oil viscosity, tire pressure, and ambient temperature to name a few. You will have to experiment to find out how easily yours will go into lock up.

Another fuel saving tip: don't idle it to warm it up like you would with a carbureted car. Its totally unnecessary, it wastes fuel, and it causes damage to the environment. As soon as you start up, just drive gently while not exceeding 2500 rpm. It will warm up quicker this way. When cold, the car will delay its upshifts, and refuse to go into lockup no matter what.

Mzm_aly_shaklr so u think my problem with mileage may also be due to CNG installed by the person who used it before me??

I will be going to Lahore from rwp via gt road in a couple of days, will check the mileage on gt road as well, will update you guys. I am seriously hoping it gives a good average.
I'd go for throttle body service, injectors cleaning, tuning otherwise

    Aoa ppl
So I came to Lahore from rwp via gt road, and drive was careful and I tried to drive fuel economical, my civic vti prosmatec gave me an average of 12kmpl.
300kilometers in 25 litres f petrol, without AC.
I think it does need intake cleaning, tappet adjustment, tuning, and maybe even injector and fuel filter cleaning

don't go for above just try LiquyMoli injector cleaner and octane plus at the time of tank full, took it to motorway or GT road and drove it fast, it will clean all fuel lines, injectors, throttle etc etc. just give it a try and this will cost you exactly 1750 Rs.

I told you but nobody here would believe me. Mine manual never gave anything above then 14-15 on motorway and that too with speeds not exceeding 100 and in local it was 10-11.

Aoa ppl. I've come back from Lahore, I could not get my civic 06 prosmatec tuned there, I could only get my hands on injector cleaner by liqui moly and put it in my fuel tank after getting it filled.
Well, my car did an aweful 10.5 kmpl on motorway and ate up 38litres of fuel to get me from Lahore to isb.
I drove without AC, and my speeds were between 120and 130kmph.
I am shocked at the amazingly low performance of my car.
Even met a guy with a Chevy optra at bhera, his car was doing a solid 15kmpl on motorway .
I was just wondering if I have made the wrong choice to buy a civic over optra!
Anyways, going to the Honda dealership in I9 asap

@ahmedraja1996 I am shocked bro. I am using a d16 engine in my 1987 charade and it gives me 13.5 in local and 17,5 at gt road.
And now was expecting a similar consumption from this civic, but I am totally shocked. Cannot believe it.
I mean 10.5 kmpl on motorway without AC is tooooooooooo expensive.
Isnt it better I drive a merc E300 instead of this, or for that matter any other bigger, more luxurious car if it has to be 10kmpl
