Default Honda civic 06 fuel consumption problem

    Aoa dear members!
I've recently bought a 06 civic vti oreal prosmatec which has done 85k kilometers and had CNG installed with an advancer.
I've removed the CNG cylinder (the kit still in place), and replaced spark plugs with new ones, and changed the air filter, and checked the air intake for blockages, but my car is still giving me an avg of 8 to 9 kmpl without AC.
From what I have heard its consuming a lot of petrol.
Kindly suggest me what to do to improve my car's fuel avg. I am being careful with my driving.
I was thinking to get it tuned. Any good suggestions?

I just conducted my first documented motorway test. The fuel consumption for 89.9 km was 4.95 liters. That comes out to....wait for it....

    18 km/l. @ahmedraja1996, comments?

Edit:I un-bolded the 18 kml result. Looked cheap

My 05 Civic Vti Oriel Prosmatec (petrol only) gives me 10.5 to 11 km/l in city if I drive at 2000rpm constantly to a max speed 70km/hr max.
Its running on Yokohama db 205/60/15

No Comments you got the most efficient 7th gen even the company claims of civic 1.6 ES were about 11-12 urban and 13 mixed.
I always say be realistic, if someone can prove then prove the thing not by putting the KM/L in bold. The owners of 7th gen know what is the actual fuel consumption of this car and the car i kept was with me from day one and never ever went to dealership other then regular oil changes or 50k service or routine checks. I told you before it never gave me anything more then 14km and it was 2005 vti manual 120k driven on Honda 5w30 oil with driving at 80-90km/h not exceeding 100 and w/o AC. Else many 7th gen owners are at pw you can ask from anyone. and i consider cars giving 18km/l are in hybrid category

My fuel expenses halved after shifting from 7th Gen EXi to Prius while daily running has increased
Man that car was a monster in terms of fuel consumption, a full tank barely used to last a week.

03 Civic Prosmatic. Same as your civic, but even older.

Some interesting things: the undertray is hanging, the bonnet is slightly bent, the headlight area isn't properly sealed there is a big CNG cylinder in the back, and it is running on 20w-50 for quite some time. The tires were filled to 40 psi 2 weeks ago, so I am sure it was at ~35 psi. The odometer is almost 270k km.

My father is a normal driver, and he also gets the same mileages as every one; i.e max 13 on the motorway. I am about to write a thread discussing my driving style, and the limitations that I faced.

Rest assured, I wasn't driving at 60-70 on the motorway. I preferred 90-100, touching 130 at one point. More details later. First, I urge you to read up on the following terms: DWL, DWB, and NICE-ON. The definitions are on the cleanmpg site. It will help you understand my driving style a bit.

Realistically, I was expecting a max of 16, not more. My father challenged me that I couldn't cross 14; he has been driving this car for a long time, and that was the best that he could manage.

The trip from the GIKI gate to the Kashmir Highway PSO pump only took less than 5 liters. We were both in a state of shock for a few seconds; the fuel tank was absolutely full. No more petrol could go in.

    That feeling

DWL- bleeding your speed on an uphill, gaining it back on the downhill. Without fuel consumption display, you just keep the pedal pressure constant. With a FCD, its slightly more complicated, but just keep the first part in mind.

DWB- self explanatory. Drive if your brakes are not working. In other words, look far ahead, and prepare for the traffic situation ahead. (also see Anticipatory Focus).

NICE-ON: put the car in neutral, with the ICE on. It is especially useful when there is a downhill, there are no obstacles ahead, and you want to mainain/gain speed.

These two oils are much better then Honda Genuine engine oil 5W-30 fully synthetic and giving superb fuel mileage and long change interval as well.

I will say you that use zic xq 5W-40 fully synthetic. or Havoline 5W-40 fully synthetic in your car with oem oil filter should buy from 3s.
Bro what do u say about honda 3s is also giving Caltex Havoline for rs 3000.........rite now I'm using honda total oil 5w-30 in my 2013 civic ....should i convert my car to Caltex oil ?

When you know how to use one, a prosmatic is not much worse than a manual. In fact at highway speeds, it has a distinct advantage:
The manual spins at 3k rpm at 100 in 5th, while the prosmatic locked in 4th spins at 2.5k.
