Thread: Civic 95 engine swap

    Default Civic 95 engine swap

    Dear members.

    So I have a weak stock carby D15 installed in my car, and after the gasket is gone 2nd time, the mechanic has proposed that I change the engine. As for the mechanic, he is considered quite reliable in the market.

    Now since the engine needs to be changed, I am thinking to jump to D15b dual vtec. I talked to the mechanic's engine guy in shershah, and he says engine with wiring and ecu for 70k.

    Considering your experiences, please guide me if thats a worthy option, and/or give suitable suggestions. Will it increase the resale value of the car, or devalue it? From what I think, the value will be increased of the car, but to those who know the potential of the dual vtec (correct me if im wrong).

    The guy also gave below options.

    1. D15b non vtec for 55k
    2. some efi engine (probably d15b non vtec) which will be combined with current carburetor in some way (if I head him correctly). Dont exactly recall the price for this option.

    Looking forward for expected assistance. Also let me know if maintenance costs will increase with vtec.

    Brothers. I am so confused. What should I do?

    Keep the carb with assembly swap or vtec swap? Whats more worthy and practical?

    Also confirm if my calculation is correct for vtec swap leading to expenses of over 90k.

    Your assistance is more than welcome.

    U r going to spend 1 lac plus on ur car , so just wanted to see the overall condition of ur car body wise, coz its useless to put new engine in a rusted old car

    Ahan. So did I clear the inspection?

    but again, the question remains......

    Vtec one with new cooling system .... Dont install cng .... If u wanna install cng , go for a used cng kit , that will cost u cheap coz used kits are available in around 20-25 k at max

    Ok guys. So i started the car this afternoon and it started for a bit, then wouldn't start, and water is literally flowing out of the exhaust! :O

    So now the car can only be towed to the mechanic?

    Anyone? Can the car be started after draining all water and be driven for 5 mins?

    I am also doing a transplant on Honda civic eg and after thorough research going to install d15b vtec black top along with p06 ecu n s20 b0000 trasmission InshaAllah. Got a complete setup

    swaping assembly and new engine is same thing

    going for Vtec is best option without any doubt....

    a good d15b kabli these days costs 80k along with ecu wiring and gearbox

    rest you will need oil changes and swap cost and wiring cost ..which will differ ....... a normal swap like this should be done in 12k includes wiring and swap cost

    stock down pipe is perfect and radiator and the stock axles will be used as well

    second option if you want to keep your engine convert in into vtec ..not much of issue

    gte p08 costs 2k more ... but any day u need to add a new map .. u can chip it

    it will work with andvancer and on cng gives good millage
    and efi ka.zamma hai bro carb engine in ur car which looks badarse
    maxa nahi kare ga
    ik do locks to mare also except shashka things better petrol econmy
