If you have mechanic who knows how to work on power steering pumps EPS etc then you should buy Honda Genuine seals and he should replace them. Not a big task.

@khjodat !!!!! Power pumps are not repaired. they have to be replaced. Who ever claims to repair the pump will never give you guarantee of one day. so its better to get it replaced.

There is a workshop in Quaid-e- Azam Industrial estate kot lakhpat. You can call them and get information. No is 0302-7760997

Dear Ahmad Mustaq my power steering pump has no problem like whine or humming noise, there is only oil seepage from its seals and this is normal to replace it with new ones. I have seen many videos on U-tube where it is normal to change the faulty seals with new ones and then same pump becomes normal. It doesn't seem wise to replace the whole pump with re-manufactured one just because it slightly leaks. There are two quality of seals available in market. One has a cost of Rs 600 and other one costs up to Rs 2250. However, I am thankful to you for letting me know a mechanic. I will talk to him and let you know.

when you do open the steering column also check for any wear and tear on the steering column, sometimes if there is corrosion then even changing the seals would not help...

Yes thanks I have heard this thing before and I will ask the mechanic to make the uneven rack or column smooth by grinding and polishing process before installing the new seals.

Well you better check the rack yourself as most of the times polishing and grinding does not last for very long...if the condition is not good I would suggest to change the rack

if the rack is uneven/scored/too much wear and tear, there is no way it can be fixed reliably, a new rack is the way to go

But how do you be so sure that the rack you are buying from Bilal Gunj is not being repaired/re-manufactured before.

you use a torque wrench and an adapter to fit the spline - with the assembly held in a vice - you check for consistency of the steering rack - if its not consistent enough, it ain't good enough

for the specs, you refer to the service manual
