Default Honda civic 2005 reducing coolant

    Asalam O Elaikum,

I am sorry if this topic has been posted before, but I could not find a thread specifically catering to my problem.

I had shifted my car on zic super A coolant in January. the previous owner was using water. There was minor reduction in coolant level in the month of January and February. But now in the summers of March and April, I am witnessing increased drop in the coolant level. My car usually covers 150 kms per week. and each week I have to top up the reserve bottle. Every week the level drops till the minimum level and I have to top it up till the maximum Level. There is no leakage witnessed to the eye. Please help me in this regard.

The car is honda civic 2005 eagle eye manual transmission

Its a minor leak from a hot area...it evaporates as soon as it leaks.....coolants leave a coloured stain behind....check each n every pipe/radiator n its cap/waterbody etc
Life is short and very unpredictable just like a Quarter mile .....

once you have made sure that theres no smoke and no oil and coolant mixing either in engine oil or radiator then a hot day start it with ac running and check for leaks, go through all the hoses bottom of radiator and heater core as well. check passenger footwell for any dampness. if your car is automatic check transmission cooler pipes and also transmission oil for any coolant mixing.coolant shouldn't decrease so much do check it out. if you are still having trouble get the car up ramp on inspect hoses from below as onetime i coudnt diagnose a leak and only found it from below the lift and my car was leaking from the thermostat bypass pipe.

do fix the problem as otherwise depending on where the coolant is going major problems may occur or you maybe stranded at the side of the road. if you are worried about coolant wasting then drain and collect the coolant for the time being and have the issue fixed asap and pour coolant back.

I faced similar problem in my Mehran. What i found out was very strange. There was a leakage from T that was diverting water to CNG kit. Strangely leakage only occured when car was started and it was still cold. There was absolutely no leakage with engine turned off or when water became hot(maybe due to thermal expansion leakage stopped). Just tightned the clamp and problem was solved. This problem kept me wondering for many months that where does the water go..
Also check radiator cap. Maybe it leaks when hot and under pressure, and due to heat coolant evaporates instead of falling on ground.

Does the coolant problem have to do something with pcv and thermostat valve??? My fan is auto and the temperature needle stays at 45% throughout

    PCV valve...No..
Thermostat valve malfunction could cause heating problems but coolant disappearing from system doesn't have to do anything with T valve

Haan yes! A friend was just asking me to get the thermostat inspected. I did not understand how it cud contribute to coolant issues. There is no mixing of oils or coolant. Even if I drive 2 hours constantly on ac, the needle stays at 45%. The fan is auto

But I have seen that if I keep the car on idle, the fan starts with an interval of 2-3 minutes. And both of the fans start. I always thought that one fan is for the ac and the other is for the radiator. But both of them work together, be it on the ac or on the auto fan start

Though that is also not related to coolant disappearing problem but yes both should not start when ac is not running and car becomes hot, Only radiator fan should run. I think someone shortned control wires of both fans together so that when you turn on ac both fans get power and turn on preventing car from overheating. See if both fans run when you turn on ac. Similarly when radiater fan gets power both fans turn on as wires are probably shortned...

Check water body for leakage. Also water could also leak fron cabin heater core but in that case you should get water dripping out of ac drain pipe or from under dash even when ac is not running..

Though solving this problem won't cost much but that give arise to the suspicion that car may had the history of heating problem...
Better get whole system checked for safety....

Could be, but you should also keep in mind that weak radiator would cause car to overheat. On other hand there is also a possibility that absolutely nothing is wrong with this car. Just went into wrong hand for repairing and this was done as a bonus by the mechanic as we know in Pakistan mechanics are in habbit of removing T-valves, by-passing heaters and doing this type of stupid stuff without any reason....
