Hi guys - Just thought I'd share something in order to put it out there for opinions and feedback: learnt, during a discussion with my Director the other day, that he was having a hard time getting the average on his Honda City [2012/Aspire/1.5/Prosmatec] to go back to the 12/12.5 km per ltr that it had been giving him up until a few months ago.
He got it checked by the Honda authorised dealership a number of times to no avail, and was finally told by one bright spark over there that he should fill her up with Hi-Octane in order to get a better average, the reason being that the quality of regular has gone significantly down ever since the dramatic price reductions.
Well, he did that, and his average went back up to 12.5!
So I decided to try the same with my 6th Gen Civic [2000/EXI] and what do you know, it actually has evidently increased! While my needle would drop down to half a tank by the time I'd run 150 to 160 on regular, it reached half at 214 on Octane.
Has anybody else experienced something similar?
