    Default Civic 99 Speed and Fuel Problem

    Guys, I have a 99 vti oriel..spent a lot of money on her but wont cross 140km/hr. Changed the fluids..plugs..filters...what not. Got it tuned multiple times from multiple places. Recently from Amjad Motr Xprts Isb. The car runs smooth but wont cross 140k mark 4 rpm. Car is on petrol and consumes alot as well, does 7 or 8km/ltr. Any suggestions?

    Did u recently buy this car?
    These r old cars n most of people hv swapped the engines.maybe ur car has a swapped engine....if its a vti....engine shld be d16y8......so timimg is ruled out.....get compression done infront of urself.it shld b 170 to 180.let me post link of my cars compression test......tk car to member rozzz he wld do compression....or melody pso pump enercon tunning guy wld do it 4 u

    Engine is not swapped i got it checked from multiple ppl and last owner as well.

    Compression test. After engine rebuild.compression was 150.my car had same issue.it wld shift below 5k if floored.after assembly swap we took compression n it was 175 to 180.....n if floored it wld shift at 6200 rpm......meaning engine rebuild was fail !

    I wouldn't trust honda guys on their vague statement of 'compression is good'.

    Do a compression test on your own, or have it done in front of you. Anything below 150 is not acceptable for whatever you want from the car above 140kmph.

    I am not sure if I understand correctly, but if your car is an auto it should cut off at 5500 in P & D. It cuts off at 6200 and that makes me second Hash that your engine may be swapped without swapping your ECU.

    Are you getting any check light? when your ECU goes into limp mode, the fuel cuts between 4000-5000 rpm but as per your statement your fuel do not cuts in "N".. Check your EGR Valves (if your engine supports EGR) or this might be a blocked air filter, open your airbox and check the filter, if it is full of dust so try giving a new one. Sometimes bad fuel also gives such symptoms, try using High Octane on a full tank. Also check your catalytic converter, it might be blocked as well.

    Except the coverter thingy, i have tried all others. Just tired and fed up of this car. Althou very comfortable but drinks fuel like wine and does not hits topspeeds

    Confirm engine compression numbers before going in for a swap
