You should normally clean CATCON with pressurised air in reverse direction of exhaust flow and re-install it. Also avoid fuelling from PSO and Attock. Only fill up from Caltex and Shell.

That is the major problem! No honda dealership cleans it..They only say to break it!..and if u go to any roadside mechanic..they damage the 02 sensor..

Now every honda workshop and dealer ship cleans cat rather than removing it.

Honda pitshop gujrat guy also told me to clean it.But since i already removed it from my two cars corolla 1.6 and swift and satisfied with their performance so i removed it.

But now i regret my decision since my civic is only 20000km driven i should have cleaned it.

That idiot destroyed my brand new O2 sensor. Now i have to install used Kabuli one

Advice:Never ever let roadside machanic to do experiment on your car.

Yes u shuldve cleaned it..removing it is never ever advised..and its very important to not take ur car or any 8th gen civic to a roadside mechanic..they might charge less but will screw up ur car and wont take the blame for it..its always better to spend a few thousand more and take ur car to honda 3s or a qualified honda pitstop..btw ive been to 3 different honda 3s workshops in lahore and nobody wants to clean it..they only destroy it..although it can be cleaned very easily..but no mechanic is willing to do it..
