    Default Civic 2005 Engine

    @all honda freaks
    drove toyota always but gave up just a while ago. have switched to 05 Civic Vti. What exact engine model does this 05 Civic Vti oriel has? Im preparing to do some extreme modifications with it. It kinda looks like a D16y-x series.

    peace!

    Hello
    yeah D Series engine..............i think headers plugs downpipe and bigmouth muffler is enough........!more than that is useless on D16...then better switch onto B16 or B18........!
    anywayz......what about you Corolla with 20V bhai......after crash...i won't listen any from you....what happends...is that corolla and 20V allright?????

    all 01-05 civic sedans (few exceptions) had the D17 (1.7L) series motor...D16 series was discontinued after the year 2000.

    ok..how did you figure that it was the d16 in your car? and what year was your car? the 05 model?

    if this was the case...then Honda has doped people in Pakistan by putting the old technology engine...lol...sounds impossible cuz all 01-05 EM civics around the world had the D17 as the common engine (SI models excluded)

    Apart from this.... ask ne one livin here in PAKISTAN.... they too will tell u that the 7Gen. civic came with a 1.5 or a 1.6 D15 or D16 engine.

    I kno wht ATLAS HONDA is doing these days....

    ok many thanks for posting that photo....i have never heard of the w9 before. I just found some info on it.

    The motors available through 01 to 05 civics (SI and SIRs excluded) were basically fitted with D16V1, D16W9, D17A2, D17A5, D17Z3 or D17Z4. So you can see there are two 1.6 motors and the rest 1.7.

    All Civics here in North America (01-05) were 1.7 and not 1.6 but it seems Honda had those two smaller less powerful motors that were fitted in the Pakistani civics.

    So you stand corrected..its the 1.6 and not 1.7...but doesnt sound right though...when they already had the 1.6 D16 motors through 96-00, the 1.7 should have been offered atleast on the VTI Oriel...top of the line car in the civic lineup. I guess 1.7 was offered only over here and in Japan.

    Sucks imo.

    @ser_gtr
    I sold the 20v as salvaged "2 lacks" . The second was sold for 7 lacks with charger and apexi safc.

    @ all.
    Many thanks for the info there. Yes its a civic 2005 vti oriel white color. The engine looks like the one poseted by SAABi.

    Its funny how Honda engines are different from Toyota engines. For now, im going for headers,plugs,wires and downpiping only. Maybe get an Edelbrock D16 turbo kit from www.edelbrock.com .

    that edelbrock turbo kit for D16 motors is one of the best out there.....and in my experience....a non vtec d series motor is easier to manage than a vtec one cuz vtec messes up with turbos a little.
